You found out you where somehow related to one of histories most notorious villans, like adolf hitler or joseph stalin?

What could I do? You can choose your friends but you can't choose your relatives.

I'd cash in by writing a book and giving it a title like "My Journey: Memoirs of Stalins Grand Nephew". The book would have nothing to do with Stalin and instead would be my opinions on various topics like how the quality of Tesco bags for life has radically gone downhill.

What would you do if your son was at home
Crying all alone on the bedroom floor
    Cause he's hungry
And the only way to feed him is to, sleep with a man for a little bit of money
    And his daddy's gone
Somewhere smokin' rock now, in and out of lockdown
    I ain't got a job now
So for you this is just a good time, but for me this is what I call life

I'd post about it right away on facebook.

I'd probably Goggle them and then think what will they invite me to!

I don't think it would bother me. My great grandparents could have been complete a**holes for all I know. I never knew them or met them so I don't really care.

I found out a couple of years ago I'm vaguely related to Ian Paisley, he's my grandmother's cousin. So Paisleys grandparents were my great great grandparents. Does that count?

Quite a shock to this non practicing Roman Catholic from Dublin.

    What did I do.........went for a pint.

Researching the family tree can turn up some unwelcome surprises.. Not telling, but I was and am shocked and upset .

Go on, I admitted to Paisley.
Never met the man or anything but our bloodlines were common up to his grandparents!

I don't know if My great , great grandparents were thieves murderers or saints, and there is nothing I can do to change the past, Any one of us could be related to those two, but if I did find out that they were related to me, I would keep schnum about it.

Outlaws and bandits find their way on to our family tree. So what? They don't define who we are and shouldn't annoy us in our own lives.

Surprised me too , I'm related to an officer who took part in a massacre of civilians and rape and murder of women during wartime.Pretty disturbing.
Around a thousand civilians killed and a town burned.

There's not much you could do, is there? It's not like it would affect your day to day life and chances are nobody would find out unless you told them.

It would make for an interesting chat over a cup of tea, of course.

I'd be on the first flugzeug to the motherland, demanding a share of that nazi gold

I'm related to one of histories most notorious villains through marriage, no direct bloodline thankfully.

Although I do share his lust for world domination.

I used to live a couple of hundred metres from Joseph Stalin's family home. Drank with his descendants on occasion - decent people in my experience.

That being said, if my surname was 'Hitler', I'd probably consider a name change. Nobody wants to live next door to the Hitler's.

I'd go full Falling Down mode channelling my relatives super power for evil. If it was Stalin I'd change my name to Joe Cruach

To be honest, I think my daughter is somehow related to the devil but I'm not sure if it's from my lineage yet.

We are all related to both these men if you go back far enough.

I found my great great great great great grandfather on Wikipedia yesterday.

He wasn't a dictator or anything sadly so I probably won't get to dine out on the story very much.
