Enda Varley in great form for St Vincent's. Scored 1-3 in first half v Na Fianna.

Perhaps he has matured into contention . Did he score 1-8 overall ?

    Yes, just 2 frees

No Connolly once again as ex-Mayo forward Varley hits 1-8 to see Vincent's past Na Fianna http://the42.ie/3984463

TBF he's been putting stellar performances for Vincent's since his transfer but IMO his ship has sailed apropos the county team.

There are many many examples of great club players who were not good enough at county level.
    He is one

I would he is a better option and playing to a better standard consistently than other forwards we have.

Bittersweet news for the Gavin family as the remains of their sadly deceased son David have been recovered in Canada.

Most sensible People see it for the friendly rivalry it is especially as one matures . I personally support any Connaught team once they are not up against Mayo .

    Same here.

With the exceptions of Galway and The Rossies. And maybe Sligo. I'm fairly sure I would cheer on Leitrim though.

Varley's ship has sailed. I always liked him but he got more than enough opportunity at county level - probably even more than most managers would have given him

He had his great performances - like the 2012 semi - but when teams marked him closely, like Donegal in the 2012 final, he had very little influence. He was always great in space, and you'll get bucket loads more at club level especially playing for the top club in Dublin, but county is a complete different kettle of fish

I see Kevin Walsh has been making some odd comments about been labelled over physical. Mustn't have been in tune with who played for us in the league either ;)

"Mayo have been the strongest challengers to Dublin. A lot of their key men didn’t feature much or at all in the league, so they will be fresh, we know that.

To be honest I gave up reading manager interviews a while ago

I mean what are they really going to say - "they're an overrated team, we're expecting to beat them handy and I don't rate half their players"?

    It's a completely pointless exercise.

I'd love it if someone came out and said that after a match.

    Mayo v Roscommon replay.
Rochford "To be honest we were poor the last day and Roscommon got really lucky with the two goals, we figured out how poor they were this week and just did a number on them, we're far superior than them as footballers and honestly as people too"

Ah Fr Tod, can I just thank you for those last few words. I'm still here chuckling.

    I didn’t hear him say that ?
    Harrison back in full training
COC in light - no mention of Galway game
Keegan doing running no contact and rules out of Galway game
Cillian will feature but I’d now have my doubts he will start

And that is not good news for us at all

He didn't mention Cillian wasn't going to feature as I read that interview but rather Lee Keegan is as expected unavailable.

Just listened again, missed him skipping onto Lee. So Cillian should play... and Lee maybe ;)

Ya, thought he was still talking about Cillian but he had went onto Lee. I think we'll see Cillian start, still plenty of time to get a couple of full contact sessions in.

I was as always listening to the auld sports news on Morning Ireland before a day's hard labour.

    Connacht championship starts this weekend.

    London v Sligo

    New York v Leitrim

    Any chance of a shock?

Tom Cunniffe continues to represent the Big Apple alongside Armagh's finest Jamie Clarke! Two great lads to have in your first 15.

The Bookies see New York having the better chance of the upset anyway. If Clarke is on form then there's a good chance of it.

Liam Irwin is with London now, is Mulligan still there?

I'm pretty sure Mulligan announced his retirement from intercounty over the winter!

What do ye make of that appointment? I see some very negative comments from our own fans towards it.
As for his scoring record and ability it can't be questioned.

I'm not a fan of some of his off the ball antics, I think that doesn't endear him to many. But every county has it.
