Another vote for the Galway Clinic.

A relative got his hip done there. He could order all meals from a menu. Piano at reception.
Compare that to University Hospital Limerick that is rife with MRSA.:( When they heard in the Galway Clinic that he had visited UHL the week before, they asked him to shower twice at home before he left and again when he arrived.

    Two tier health service, folks.

I’ve had many procedures and tests in Sports Surgury Clinic in Santry, very efficient, friendly staff and never ever kept waiting.

Having said that I had some tests done in Monaghan General earlier this week, small and somewhat overshadowed by Cavan General these days. I was called ahead of my appointment time, really friendly staff and overall very easy relaxed feeling.

Young lad had an appointment in social welfare office at ten. We were there at 9.55. Called at 10.20 first appointment of the day twenty minutes late.

We deal regularly with a few SW offices at work and all I can say is I’ve never encountered such a group of self serving almost intentionally unhelpful department in my life. They presume everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is going to be a problem and that everyone is somehow out to do something to make their lives harder and so they seem to do a sort of primitive ****storm when you ask anything.

Have dealt with them in work too. Always thought a spell on the other side of the fence would do them no harm.

Sorry to hear that Brian. It gets tough when it's your own age group that gets the calling. And it won't get easier.

The girl we dealt with was great in fairness. He was getting his public service card. We took into a fit of laughing when he was getting his photo taken. I had to leave. I apologized at the end and she said sure it's good to laugh

I went into local office recently to get a form filled proving I wasn't on any payments which I told the girl behind the counter - she disappears for ages and eventually returns and apologized because she didn't know what to do. she'd never come across anyone who didn't want money from them and had no idea what to do with me - I suggested an official stamp on he bottom of my form and sign it for me!! I left laughing! Roll on old age pension!

Just checking out the local sheep farmers sheep to make sure they're not after breaking in with the binoculars as you do there this evening.
I heard a cock pheasant chucking away then in another field. So I turned the binoculars then to see if I could see him.
Didn't spot the pheasant but saw a magpie roughly over where the pheasant was calling from. The magpie was darting on the branch at something.
What was it only a buzzard.

I must say the buzzard blended in fairly well with the trees still in their winter clothes.
But anyway the buzzard was following the pheasant and the magpie was following the buzzard.
The buzzard got a bit fed up with the magpie then and moved onto a different tree but was still following the pheasant.

So there's a bit of a wildlife post.

Speaking of birds, you just reminded me. Back when the ewes were lambing I was heading for the shed to check on them. Heard this awful squawking when I was coming down the road. When I went in there was a bird that had a magpie caught by one leg. They were fighting it out around the lambing pens. Sheep going daft. I have got a few videos of it but mag got away in the end. I'm no expert but I think it was a peregrine Falcon. Fastest animal in the word. Can go over 200 mph. I've attached a screen shot of one of the videos. Not sure how to upload a video. Its not the best picture but maybe someone with more knowledge then me can confirm what it is.

Ah that's more like it! I was thinking a bird that can go 200mph wouldn't be hunting in a shed. Few more pictures.

They'd only take one bounce around here at the moment, in off the road. They'd have to learn a new skill after that:D

When i rang the recruiter before i landed in oz they said the most dangerous animal where im headed was a kangaroo on the road, never mentioned tiger snakes and redbacks.
Im getting a great kick off tormenting the rest of the team here by being so lax and easy about the snakes and spiders.
