Blur were musically and lyrically better. I'd rather listen to Oasis on a long car journey though.

I'd be the same! I recognise that Blur were musically better but I'd probably choose to listen to Oasis over them in a lot of circumstances :)

I wouldn't class myself as a fan of either, but as a neutral in the battle, Oasis have far more good songs.

    Simple as that.

I would know maybe 20 Oasis songs to sing along to if they came on the radio, whereas it might be 5 at most of Blur.

I remember buying Morning Glory to see what the fuss was about. The musical equivalent of wallpaper - just bland and immediately forgettable. Blur's middle-class, mockney rubbish was no better.

Noel Gallagher is an excellent interviewee though, a witty fella. So, Oasis I suppose....

Suede were better than both of them by some distance before the guitarist quit.

I was rabidly pro Blur at the time. Now though, I love them both.

I would say both groups were as equally upset as each other at being thought off as being so similar that this question was asked!?

It's kinda like asking MADNESS or THE JAM?
Tho both of them were brilliant anyway :P

Oasis were beyond boring. Paint drying on the wall. Ugh. Blur were ok? One or two somewhat fun songs, but nothing special.

Suede. Most under rated band of the 90s.

Oasis for me. Blur did a few catchy ditties but they were a bunch of middle class home counties english boys making a lot of lighthearted tunes about the vagaries of life from the point of view of a university student who's going to get a job at his Dad's bank even if he drops out of his Art's degree.

The Gallagher's are a couple of Irish scruffs. Immigrant kids, dragged up, singing about having no arse in your trousers and still having a blast. That used to be very Irish. Once upon a time.

    Blur for me.

Some people will agree, others will disagree. It comes down to taste so nobody is "wrong" as such

Oasis were a miserable bunch, Blur were more chilled out, but for me the best BritPop band of that time were Pulp :p

Both were massively overrated bands IMO.

I mean Oasis basically ripped off The Beatles.
