bike rack for car.

Hi wondering if it is possible to get a bike rack for a car that would cope with five bikes, two adult, too teenager and one child.....or am i realistically looking at 2

If you have a tow hitch, you'll get 4-bike racks and you'd easily throw a child's bike on there too.

I've used strap-on and tow hitch racks and have carried 5 bikes when the kids were small. As they grew, I moved one or two bikes to the roof (alongside the roofbox - I had to mod the roofbox to move a mounting point inwards so it would sit further to the side) and hung the remainder on the rear rack.

Don't forget a light bar to hang on the bike rack.

I use a tow bar mounted rack for three bikes with another two on the top of the car. Never seen a rack for five bikes. When the kids were smaller we could get two bikes in the back of the car.

You can get 5 bike towbar mounted ones. The tow bar is meant to be rated for 100kg though.

For day's out at home though I just use a thule express two bike rack for the adult bikes and stick the two kids bikes in the boot one 20" and one 24" wheel.
If you take both wheels off the child bike it won't take up much room in the boot and still be able to pack luggage around it.
