    Hi guys,

Recently moved into a new house. We have a Natural Gas and also have a an electric immersion. Had an electric shower in the old house plus kero in the old house

During the winer we used the heating to heat the water but coming into the summer would it be cheaper to turn the two thermostats down and put the heating on so the water heats or put on the immersion ?

30 minutes of either heats enough for a bath

Also interested as I’ve just installed a two zone heating system.

If you don't have separate zones you need to turn off all the rads and turn the stat up fully. With the stat turned down the boiler won't fire up.

Heating water with gas costs roughly half that with electricity

Yeah we have dual zone stats one upstairs and one down stairs. We also have a termostat dial in the hotpress beside the tank.

Thanks for your reply its much appreciated, you have just helped save a Cavan man some money
