Fritzbox 4040 bridge help

    Hi All,

    Got Siro from Digiweb installed yesterday but I need to get the digiweb modem into bridge mode does anybody know how to get this done?

    SIRO = FTTH = Forget bridging

    Connect your own cable router to the ONT, simples. You may need to configure WAN traffic to VLAN 10(?) for traffic to flow but that should be about that.

    Thanks Ed that was it once I put in my username and password and also changed VLAN to 10 it worked straight away. Many thanks for the help.

    So can u connect your own router eg fritzbox 4040 to ont instead of Vodafone box?

    Yep.
    - Supports WAN VLAN tagging
    - Fast enough to NAT the connection you order (don't connect WRT54G to 600Mb)

    Thats about it.

    This great to know. So once your router supports VLAN tagging you can plug it straight into the ONT, change to VLAN 10 if necessary, put in your username and password and off you go?

    Yes I have just done it and it works perfectly put the old router back in its box.

    The same applies to OpenEIR FTTH.

    Even OpenEIR VDSL/FTTC operates that way ... obviously needing a VDSL capable router.
