Can you transfer from medicine in NUIG to UCC after doing the foundation year

    Hi,
    I’m currently in fifth year and really want to do medicine. I live in cork but can’t start med here as I don’t do chemistry in school. NUIG offers med without needing chemistry but with a foundation year where you learn chemistry used for med. is it possible to transfer after the first year in Galway cause it would be too expensive to do the 6 years in Galway

    Contact NUIG but i wouldnt be sure you could. Could you not pick up chemistry outside of school hours to help you get medicine as doing it will also benefit you starting the course if you get it.

    Thanks for replying. However I’m not sure if I’m able to take up chemistry at this point in the year or whether it would be possible to do the Chem course in a year and during this summer?

    Sorry thought you said fifth year. You generally cant transfer into medicine. Contact them though to be sure.
