Yep, I'm looking forward to it as well.
There's also a new Hip Hop documentary series coming out soon as well, the name evades me at the moment.

There's that Hip Hop Evolution series on Netflix. It's not bad but it's a tad brief and skims over a heck of a lot of important events and acts.

I wish it had been something more akin to the Evolution of Metal - even as someone that isn't much of a fan of metal, it was a brilliant journey through all the different genres of metal and I'd highly recommended it to all music fans.

Must check it out. The Outkast documentary is excellent if you haven't seen it.

I haven't seen it but it's on the list now, cheers.

The Defiant Ones should be a good watch for anyone with an interest in rap/hip hop

It's pretty good, it also covers Jimmy Iovine so a lot more than just rap music in it. That was the part I found most interesting.

I've finished up Jessica Jones so I need to pick something new to watch. Wild Wild Country seems to be topping the list, but I'll have to watch Game Over Man, I bloody love Workaholics so I imagine this will be right down my alley.

Watched the Korean "Steel Rain" last night. Very enjoyable show. :)

Good long movie unlike a lot of the 88 minute crap that seems to be all the go now.

Will we ever see Person of Interest season 5 arrive on Uk/Ireland ... frustrating ending it on a cliff-hanger like that.

game over man so far the reviews aren't great

I've grown to not bother with reviews really. It looks a perfect popcorn movie so I'd never expect it to rate highly. Even personal taste depends on humour, there's many trashy movies I really enjoy in the right mood (Horrible Bosses 2 most recently) which get brutal ratings on Metacritic, on another night when I've interest in a different genre I wouldn't go near them.

Thought the problem was Hollywood making overly long winded movies? Me, I really like a film gets in and out in under 2 hours :)

I watched Game Over Man last night and it was perfect Friday night viewing. Quite strange but enjoyable and not too taxing on the brain. I would recommend it.

The guru dude in Wild Wild Country, image of Donald Sutherland in the eyes. Never blinked once. It looked like a fun scene, banging and big bushes.

Episode 1 is dreadful, it could've been compressed into about 10 minutes.

Netflix Teams With Formula 1 Racing For New Series

Gentlemen – and ladies – start your engines. And your Internet.
    In 'The Dirt'
Formula 1 and Netflix have announced a season-long collaboration culminating in an original docu-series of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship, to be screened in early 2019.

The Netflix original series will attempt to immerse the audience inside the cockpits, the paddock, and the lives of the key players in Formula 1 racing. The series will have exclusive access to the world’s fastest drivers, team principals and owners, as well as Formula 1’s own management team.

Netflix has commissioned 10 episodes from the 2018 season. The series will be executive-produced by Academy-Award winner James Gay Rees (Senna) and Paul Martin for Box to Box Films. Sophie Todd will be the showrunner.

“This partnership with Formula 1 furthers our mission of working with world-class brands and production partners to produce best-in-class unscripted series,” said Bela Bajaria, VP of content for Netflix. “We can’t wait for this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix and to embark on an incredible season across the world.”

“Formula 1 is a global sport that we are actively repositioning from a motorsport company to a media and entertainment brand,” said Sean Bratches, F1 managing director of commercial operations: “The agreement with Netflix serves to chronicle the fascinating story of what transpires behind the scenes during a grand prix season. This is a perspective of the sport that has yet to be unveiled to fans around the world. This series will unleash a compelling vantage point to the sport that will delight fans and serve as a catalyst to entice new fans.”

Ian Holmes, the director of Formula 1 media rights, said the collaboration “represents a new way of capturing our sport in all of its exciting aspects. There is nothing like F1, its layers of engineering complexity, allied to the enormity of human endeavour required to get through a Grand Prix season. The chance to present our sport through Netflix, to their worldwide audience, in an original and unique format, is something that we are very much looking forward to. This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase F1 and attract new fans to the sport.”

That f1 collaboration sounds intriguing. If they handle it right they could have a really interesting balance between engineering, racing performance and drama.

Paradox - if you're having a flaked evening in I'd highly recommend. It's trippy and a bit weird with fab music and the very handsome Lukas Nelson.

Is Fargo the tv show gone from Netflix? Watched the first episode of season 3 the other night and it doesn't seem to be there anymore?

Game Over,Man is just about worth a look. Stupid in places but I got a few laughs out of it. Adam Devine is absolutely painful though.

Finished that documentary Wild Wild Country.

If anyone is thinking of getting into it, Don't bother.

I'm sure you'd get enough of the story by just googling it.

Total waste of about seven hours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,444 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

But really, watch it, it's actually a great story and entertaining 6 episodes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,408 ✭✭✭✭SteelyDanJalapeno

Tbf it's very long, the 22 mins forensic files episode on it does a very good job of telling the same story.

I've always wondered about things like this. If you're not into it after 2 or possibly 3 episodes then why stick with it til the end? You obviously weren't enjoying it so why not just Google the end result?

The first episode is way overlong, if you’re struggling then skip to episode 2. 2-4 are fantastic. 5 and 6 could have been condensed into 1, but not as drawn out as 1.

    It’s a brilliant documentary overall.

Best I’ve seen in ages actually.
