Is the starting salary for a newly qualified solicitor fairly uniform or is there a wide range out there? do the following factors have much of an impact on your starting salary as an NQS?
- size of the firm you work in...
-whether you are in a commercial law firm or a small practice which does a bit of everything or a criminal law firm...
-whether you work in a rural or urban area..

I've had a look at the salary guide on Morgan McKinley but it's fairly general..

Yes, very varied. All those factors can influence your salary whether you're NQ or several years PQ.
