Hi all - had a service recently and the MMI says please reduce oil level. it says OK then other times so it must be just on threshold. my diagnostic scan indicates 104MM for oil fill level. does anyone know what this level should be? My guess is that normal level is 100mm and that its only overfilled by 4mm but would like to hear peoples views.

Is there no dipstick? If it's close to or over the max you'd probably be best off removing some.

If I am not mistaken it's just the stick itself they don't supply any more, the tube is still there
If this is true for your car then you can get oil out that way with an extractor.

Or - go back to the place that serviced the car and have them fix it..

I think this is the best course of action for now.

If it were me I'd be buying a dip stick to make sure, but it's not really needed.

I bought a new dipstick from the local VW dealer for 14e.
It was special order but they had it the next day.
