p.s. it turned out I have coeliac disease, the blood results are positive, therefore bacterial culture like this wouldn't mitigate the immune system labelling and attacking gluten in my case.

Glad that you got a diagnosis and I hope that cutting gluten out has made a positive difference to your health!

I had 1 blood test for coeliac, which came back negative due to low vitamin B12 levels.

I've had low levels of vitamin B12 for about 3 years & it's not due to diet as I eat foods containing B12 regularly. I have B12 injections, and no further diagnostic tests were carried out so I'm still in the dark as to why they are chronically low.

I do however have double vision, chronic pain and fatigue, mental health problems and am under various consultants. Soon to see a neurologst.

The great journey through the HSE continues haha.

Has anyone tried bone broth soup for IBS?

A quick google seems to indicate it might be helpful.

Never! Let us know if you try it.

I have been using Alflorex for a few months now, and find it really good - it is expensive @€;35 a dose. I have found it for sale on Ebay however which is a good saving. About €10 - €12 in the difference. I cant add a link but if you type Alflorex into ebay you will see.

I just started this today after a recommendation from my chemist. Not for IBS as such (although I do have those symptoms also) but for a more general candida overgrowth plan of attack, alongside other things I am doing.
I'm hoping it will replace the bacteria that I seem to not have, and help kill off the ones I have too many of !
I should say I am also not eating refined or simple sugars of any kind, and severely restricting complex sugars also.
