Does revolut work with any site that seeks 3d secure?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,209 ✭✭✭The Ayatolla

3D secure is decided by the card issuer.

    Revolut works fine.

aren't Revolut the card issuer? :/

anyway had to give up trying to buy something using Revolut on game.co.uk - kept failing for 3D secure - game customer service said it was an issue for revolut

Ended up having to use my KBC mastercard

Can anyone tell me if I top up my revolut account from my AIB credit card is this treated as a cash transaction by AIB which would mean I pay fees on my credit card????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,293 ✭✭✭-=al=-

It's not treated as a cash transaction as in cash from an ATM situation, it's treated as a normal card transaction

I have a GBP balance on PayPal. Is there anyway to transfer that to Revolut as GBP or to basically not get ridden by PayPal's horrible conversion rates?

You need to set up a UK PayPal account first and transfer the sterling balance to that. Then you can withdraw it to Revolut.

I made a payment yesterday to littlewoods using my revolut card. transaction is listed as pending on revolut and the money has left the account, however littlewoods are saying that the payment was rejected by revolut. There's a two hour wait for assistance on the revolut app, can anyone advise me here on what has happened? Thanks

Looks like Revolut introduced some restriction on non 3DS cards.
Was able to top up my revolut account with my Skrill mastercard, to bypass their horrible withdrawal fees. Pity

    Need to resolve a problem.

I've lost both my Revolut card and the sim card that's associated with the account - so I can't log in via the app.

I need to order up another card - but can't as I can't do so via the app.

To compound things I'm on the other side of the world and won't be back in Ireland for another 12 months or so.

How do I sort this mess out??

EDIT: I've ordered up a replacement sim card for delivery in ireland. However, I can't find any conceivable way to interact with Revolut. I can only use the app with the bloody number and I don;t have the sim/number! I tried their website. The contact section suggests that you can call and block the card. I made a skype call - it then asks me to input the number - when I do that, it says theres been an error and hangs up.

Can someone on this part of the world login for you if they put the sim in their phone?

I don't have the sim. It will take a few days before it reaches my irish address.

In the meantime, my revolut card is at risk.

There is a serious gap in revolut's security for this situation. They have a number to call but it error's out for some reason. Otherwise, the only way to contact is in=app -and I can't get into the bloody app without a passcode via that mobile number!

Do you know anyone on Revolut you trust, like a family member, who could log a call for you through their Revolut account, giving your mobile number and a contact email address for you, they have a Facebook page, can you message them?

Thanks for the suggestion - they are currently communicating with me via FB. Luckily no money stolen from my card....just need to arrange for replacement.

So Revolut claims (despite having removed the appropriate blog post) that they now allow direct debits from the EURO account.

    Anybody tried yet?

They're introducing disposable virtual cards for Premium users. It's the first thing that has made me seriously consider upgrading. https://blog.revolut.com/introducing-disposable-virtual-cards/

Can't see how it can be done if they delete the card after use. It has been asked on their blog. Will wait for their answer.

Does anyone have a list of counties which you can sign up from? I can't really find a definitive list?

I have a family member abroad and not in the usual USA, UK or Europe which you would expect. You can find the counties dial code on the sign up page though so does that mean you can sign up and have an account based in that country's currency?

You can use any phone number, as long as your address is in one of the allowed countries.

Is there a list of allowed countries then I suppose is my real question?

And if it's an allowed country does that ensure that topping up your account from you local debit card will not incur any transaction fees on your local debit card (i.e. Conversion fee from local currency to sterling as revelout is sterling by default).

    Here's a list: https://www.revolut.com/ro/help/getting-started/verifying-identity/what-countries-are-supported?lang=en

In the past Revolut guaranteed free card top-ups from debit cards in EUR, GBP and USD, but that seems to have changed a little now according to https://www.revolut.com/ro/help/getting-started/topping-up/by-card/will-i-be-charged-for-topping-up-by-card?lang=en

Before the change I had tried topping up my RON balance with RON debit cards from two different banks. One went through as expected, but the other did a double conversion, where the RON top-up amount was converted into EUR by my bank (at the bank's crappy rate), and then Revolut converted this back into RON. In that case my 1000 RON top-up ended up costing 1037 RON. So it seems to depend on the bank.

There is a serious contradiction going on there in that link.

Topping up with USD etc debit cards is free, then topping up with a USD debit card is not free just below it.

Can I ask for some advice that may have been answered already but scrolling through 300 pages will be a pain.

I have just received my revoult card and I am heading to Sweden this weekend. I have topped up my card in Euros.

The question is do I exchange my Euros to SEK now using revoult or just take the money out of the ATM machines in Sweden?

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you're going for the weekend then I would exchange to SEK on the Friday, since Revolut charges a mark-up during weekends.
