    As your vetting is not fully complete, a decision regarding your suitability for the position of Garda Trainee cannot be determined yet.
    Once all reports are received in this office, a decision will be made by senior management and you will be notified accordingly”

    This is th email I got today can anyone explain this to me? Where am I at????

    Hey folks, following this thread closely so I can gauge what’s happening, I’m June 2017, rank 18, so I’m saying a prayer every min!! I’d previously applied in 2016 campaign, was held at medical for eyesight. I had lasek surgery, submitted all my paperwork and was recommended by HRM to apply again in 2017 campaign. I’ve still no idea as to my status with 2016 campaign!!

    I rang them and they said that the second round offers are coming out this week and that there’s a mix of 2016 and 2017 candidates receiving offers so there’s a good chance you’ll get an offer

    To me i reckon your vetting is not complete yet and they cant sign off on your file till its back . Thats why they are saying they dont no if you are suitable because it not complete. Was that just a random email they sent or did you email and that was the reply

    I am too, but I knew my vetting was still outstanding so I kinda expected to be honest ! We must be nearly at the end of the September 2016 campaign if the 2017 are getting called now !

    Yeah nothing here either Jan 2016. Most bizzare I have to say, just don't get even at the longest vetting how people in 2017 are getting ahead of people from Jan/Sept 2016.

    Are our files with someone who is working to rule or out sick or something? Really cannot get my head around it.

    Anyway, best of luck to all that are starting. :)

    Think it's time to take a break from this part of the site again, before I blow a fuse.

    Yeah I got that suitability email I think it was 2 weeks ago. I was in the British army so I hope that is what's holding me up and they haven't just decided to not let me join and are putting off telling me but at this stage I don't care I just want to know am I still in with a chance or out.
