Bit of mapping today and testing race rad setup

Note the great use of the pliers....lol

Poxy Chinese rearsets missing a part to connect the shift rod and quickshifter,so cant be used.

    Quite sinister looking alright!:pac:
I'd be adding a water separator to that compressor before spraying anything.;)

    What Max said.
Best to have everything in order first than trying to rectify issues after spraying.
Water will build up in no time and spray gun will spit it out with your paint.
Also release water regularly from compressor by loosening the valve underneath.
    Heres a filter/water separator

Not only that but moisture can build up on cold metal...if you have a nice toasty garage should be ok...but wear a good mask

Also,in this weather,up the temperature in your shed when drying and ease off compressor air pressure a bit to prevent bloom effect.

Was a track bike but had a few little niggles.
So I fitted WP WSS front forks and WP WSS rear shock.

Steve in NDM built the suspension and did engine work for me.
And Gary in Mototuning is after doing some mapping and fitting Bazzaz for me.

Also wanted keyless start....as last time I was in Mondello on the S1000rr I lost the keys and only found them 2 hours later.

Not so much a 'What I did today', but more of a checklist for what's coming over the summer hopefully.

New Exhaust - Black Widow - £319 (€364) - this winter wrecked the exhaust even with rinsing it.

Heated Handgrips - Oxford Heated Grips - €90

Handguards - these are bloody hard to find, but my fingers are freezing and it's needed. About €95 from Lee Honda if they order them.

Tyres - Probably will go for Road 3's this time around for that bit more grip - €250.

About €799 before even including the mechanics fee too. Replacing the exhaust and tyres myself isn't an option as I just don't have the tools.

There is a guy making pattern hand guards as Honda have discontinued them. I’ll find his website and pm you.

Installed new front and rear Sprocket and new Chain.

Actually had to replace the new chain that came with sprocket kit as it destroyed the link on install (mushed and cracked the rivet) My bad

But bought a DID to replace that one and the quality difference is night and day, maybe it was a sign that i ruined the first one. Destiny if you will.

The joys of using a stud extractor to remove a seized caliper mounting bolt!
    Extractor snapped inside of bolt:rolleyes:

Thing is, the top bolt on both sides seized.
They have been seized since I have the bike(4.5 years)and being meaning to sort them but feared something like this would happen.
Both bottom ones came out no problem.
There was thread lock used on them at some stage so there's a case for using copper grease on these bolts.

Meanwhile to get the front wheel off without removing the calipers I've just had to remove the mudguard.

I have nice new titanium bolts and hope to have it all back together again today.
New bolts already on the bottom.
