Sealing a timber frame

Hi, I've made a timber frame extension to the back of my house. Wondering what's the best way to seal around the windows and door. I've filled the gaps with expanding foam and other gap fillers. I'm going to finish it with pine planks. Wondering if I need something underneath the planks to make sure there is no water ingress or draft.

I plan to finish the inside with timber as well. Any ideas for insulating from inside?

    Thanks for reading.

A breathable membrane will help against draughts, along with a gap between it and the external cladding.

I thought of that but the bits I want to cover are narrow strips of timber. Wish I could post a picture to make it clear, but boards is not giving me that option. Thanks for the reply mate
