Ringing northern landline using 048.. from an irish mobile? What is the cost?

If I ring a landline in the north using the 048 code, from a mobile phone, is that not the same as making a national call? Or is it different charges for mobiles? Is it still the same as a national call from a landline in the south? I noticed that my network is charging for ringing using 048, outside my free landline…

Is it still the same as a national call from a landline in the south?

I noticed that my network is charging for ringing using 048, outside my free landline calls. I didnt think that happened.
