How to fix an airlock in an electric shower?

    Hi,

My water was recently restored. However, I have no cold water in the shower. That is, I have an electric shower, and when heating the water, hot water only comes out. When I turn the knob to the cold setting, only a small amount of water is released, and the released water is hot. Also, there's no water going to the toilet. I think this may be an airlock issue, but I don't know how to fix it.

I've contacted Irish Water, but they told me to contact a plumber. I've contacted multiple plumbers, and it looks like I'm going to have to pay no less than €80 to fix this. I've also contacted my landlord, and he told me to wait and see what happens. This was two days ago, and the problem started this past Tuesday. Please, help.

What is the make and model of the shower?

It sounds like you have a power shower and not an electric shower?

All I really know is that it's a Flair, and to heat the water, I have to press a button located outside of the bathroom.

It'll cost you a lot more to get a plumber to call out to you at the mo I'd say.

Do you have access to your cold water storage tank? Sounds like there is no water in that if both your shower and toilet and not working

From the taps in the bathroom are you getting any cold water coming through them?

Do you know where the shower gets the cold water from, does it have it's own exclusive supply or is it taking it from the supply to the toilet and/or cold bathroom sink supply?

    Hi Eurokev,

I live in what appears to be an old flat. I don't know if I have that sort of access. I'm going to ask and look around.

    Hi Atlantic Dawn,

I don't get any cold water through the bathroom sink taps. Even before the problem, the cold water tap didn't work, and I've been living in this flat for roughly a year and a half. The cold water that comes out comes out of the unheated hot water tap.

As for the shower's supply, I think it may be connected to the bathroom sink because if I run the sink's tap while the shower is on, this always affects the water pressure in the shower.
