Vietnam - connecting flights, travel time

Planning on travelling to Vietnam for a few weeks in September.

Looking for info on the best way to get there. Looking at Dublin - Heathrow - Bangkok - Ho Chi Minh but the connecting times seem a bit short. What flights have people taken before? Also do we need to go through immigration, visa etc in Bangkok if we switch airlines?

Any advice appreciated

We went Dublin Paris Ho Chi Minh with Air France. Very straight forward

I went last October. Dublin - Heathrow - Ho Chi Minh. Long flight but splashed out on Premium Economy which is like business class on some other airlines. Will be off to Hanoi this October and will probably do the same. That’s with Vietnam Airlines, a really good service.

Dublin, Paris, Guangzhou, Hanoi. Air France also, it was very smooth.

If We go with Air France do we check in our bags and pick them up at final destination and do we need to go though security customs at each airport? Haven't done a connecting flight like this before anytime in the past anytime I've connected before they've all just been separate flights with different airlines

If you book it all as one flight the airline will take care of you in the event of any delays.
