The very first sentence on the women's day website

"Now, more than ever, there's a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. There's a strong call to #PressforProgress motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive."

The very first sentence on the men's day website

"Objectives of International Men's Day include a focus on men's and boy's health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models"

Notice the difference in tone. Women's is positive, strive forward, unite, progress.

Men's is negative. Reign yourselves in, get approved role models, health issues.

    These are negatives?

I'm so sick of hearing about the "Women agenda".

Marketing spin. Essentially what they are saying is reign in your dominance to accommodate women.

you don't think women should be accommodated or are accommodated enough?

I don't see why men are involved in any abortion debates in Ireland, so men should accommodate women here.

It shouldn't even be a debate anyway.

That's a fairly big leap there. Promoting health gender equality and good role models could only equate to 'reign in your dominance' if you really really wanted to read it that way.

They're both agenda led packs of stupidity.

Ffs, improving gender relations. If the two genders couldn't get along we'd have gone extinct shortly after developing them.

If you are a man who believes in equality, are you automatically a feminist?

    Nope. You're an egalitarian.

Modern feminism and the determination to make any "white cis gendered male" ashamed of their "privilege" is a relatively new, and hopefully brief, thing.

    ...... Wow

Why should men debate about what women can or cannot do with their bodies?

This can't have been easy to do (in practical terms, not ideological)

    Clever marketing stunt.

    What. A. Load. Of. S**t.

Stop putting women up on a pedestal if you want equality. Can't work both ways. It's like they're saying go you women you can do jobs too and you can be great as well! You're all just so super! Very patronising I'd imagine and singling them out as par the fact that because they're women it's amazing they're doing things that men do too! That's not equality that's preferential treament and it doesn't make a difference because it's a positive thing. Just separates one group from the other. If we're all the same than we're all the same, that's that.

Indeed. Wow, we should get a medal for getting women pregnant.

Well the man doesn't have to worry about what happens afterwards when the load is shot.

The difference between men and women's day is that women are rightly celebrated for their achievements. Men's day is a day to highlight their weaknesses. Mental health, "toxic masculinity" and not going to doctor's are the only things that seem to get highlighted. You won't hear of Brunel, Darwin, Galileo etc being championed. It's all the negatives.

Well, Brunel has the bus station in Slough named after him. It doesn’t get more glamorous than that!

So today Facebook is telling me it is women's day.
I have no issue with gender equality but I do have a pain hearing about girl power.
I don't need to be reminded women have brains and are able to live normal lives.

    Yours
    A salty white male.
Did you have the balls to post this on facebook too?

Yeah I deleted my msg because I realised what a stupid argument it is to get in. Hopefully someone else will bite for you.

Directing more focus towards men’s health is a really good thing. Screening programmes for men lag behind a bit.

To all the lads with this Women's Day shìte going on in your company today:

I've been thinking. Since that James Damore stuff happened in Google, can this virtue signalling crap be used as a sort of economic indicator of how a business will do in the future?

So for example, what is the goal of a business?

    To make money.

So, if your company is staffed with people who want to virtue signal, your company's goal moves away from making a good product and more towards convergence; a giant in vs out; us vs them.

If your office is covered with International Women's Day stuff, maybe look towards getting the fùck out of there, because after all your company is not after quality anymore, its about status now.

    I'll give an example.

It's an open secret that in the docklands of Dublin, some of the firms there add points to people (HR department) for people who are a minority/gay etc in terms of the hiring process. It even leaked a couple of months ago that Google were blacklisting employees who either had right wing views or visited right wing websites, or even both.

What this does is that you have a company are not selecting for competence anymore. You are selecting for someone's status and background.

You have two programmers. One is an excellent white programmer. The other is a crap minority programmer. The latter gets hired by Google. The former goes elsewhere. Suddenly your algorithms are sloppier and your systems architecture is clunkier.

This means your company starts to decline because you're hiring the wrong people essentially, especially when your HR department becomes populated with these people, as like hires like. People with right wingish dispositions get pushed out. Not a good thing for a company.

International Women's Day is a very left wing leaning kind of thing, so the more of a celebration there is of it, the more that your company has been converged upon by what I'm talking about above.
