So today Facebook is telling me it is women's day.
I have no issue with gender equality but I do have a pain hearing about girl power.
I don't need to be reminded women have brains and are able to live normal lives.

    Yours
    A salty white male.

Penelope Cruz is on domestic strike for the day. I assume that means if she spills something she won't expend the effort to tell a maid to clean it up until after midnight.

Heard that Mr Price are giving away a hamper of cleaning products to the first woman customer today.

    Fair play to them.

Is it not a bit patronising to give the wimmins a special day?
Or should it be matronising for the day that's in it?

I got a Whatsapp message from my friend at 7am telling me it was International Women's Day. International Women's Day woke me up too early. I hate it now.

Ladies enjoy the day, for today only there are no calories in sweets, ice cream, cake, wine, gin, and processo.

Chips and Crisps remain calorieless as they do on any other day as long as you eat what's not yours.

If you are a man who believes in equality, are you automatically a feminist?

The best ones are the adverts on social media for restaurants or bars that start with a sternly virtuous tone that would make a suffragette blush, before ending with HALF PRICE COCKTAILS AND WINE WITH THE GIRLOS XOX

I'd be embarrassed to get free priority boarding from Aer Lingus today, especially as I'm a man.

There is. It's the same day as World Toilet Day.

The difference between men and women's day is that women are rightly celebrated for their achievements. Men's day is a day to highlight their weaknesses. Mental health, "toxic masculinity" and not going to doctor's are the only things that seem to get highlighted. You won't hear of Brunel, Darwin, Galileo etc being championed. It's all the negatives.

As it's also Seachtain Na Gaelige - that bizzare Irish Language Festival "week" that lasts for 17 days - my woman has informed me that she's entitled to an Irish Coffee - made by me!

Is she correct? And if so, could some kind person - of either gender - link me to the relevant bylaw please?

The very first sentence on the women's day website

"Now, more than ever, there's a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. There's a strong call to #PressforProgress motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive."

The very first sentence on the men's day website

"Objectives of International Men's Day include a focus on men's and boy's health, improving gender relations, promoting gender equality, and highlighting positive male role models"

Notice the difference in tone. Women's is positive, strive forward, unite, progress.

Men's is negative. Reign yourselves in, get approved role models, health issues.

My local gym, in "honour" of International Women's Day, is turning all the lights in the gym PINK for the day! :D:D:D

"Let's make everything pink, the girls will love that. Girls love pink..... #Equality.... #GirlBoss"

All women have gone on strike today here in Spain because of the wage gap. My academy is closing a bit earlier. There is a protest arranged later on this evening I think I will go to support it.
