Failed NCT steering linkage

    Hi,

    Hoping someone can help.

    Literally just got back from the NCT and I failed for a couple of reasons:

    Steering Linkage (43) x 2
    - Inner Tie Rod End.....WORN
    - Steering Rack Gaiter......INSECURE

    Any idea what parts/cost this might be?

    Thanks in advance....also any mechanic in Drogheda interested in the work let me know :D

    Parts labour and wheel alignment........somewhere between 100e and 150e I'd say

    Yeah, recommend him highly. No BS on pricing its all done by the book, and the job is 100%.

    Ah yea true, well...unless its a crappy old car and the new part is out of budget but I think I can manage from your earlier estimated price, thanks again for the help and advice.

    Always said I'd love to do a mechanic apprentice on Saturdays myself. Great to know a bit more about it.

    An apprenticeship is 4 years long. Doing it 1 day a week will take a long time.......

    Don't worry I know that and wouldn't ever think it'd be an easy task, more just a way of saying its something I'd love to know more about as I've always liked cars and been interested by them but never enough to devote the required time unfortunately as they are so complex.
