Cast iron guttering & downpipes vs Alu

    Buildering restoring old house suggested removing the current Aluminum down pipe and guttering and replacing with painted cast iron.The current Alu doesn’t seem to be in bad nick, his suggestion is to return house to the way it was built originally.
    What are your thoughts on this?

    If the alu is seamless guttering then I would spend the mula on airtightness and insulation

    Who needs painted , jointed guttering in 2018

    “I can’t pay my staff or mortgage with instagram likes”.

    I have some cast downpipe left over if you go that way.
