Put twenty on yesterday but tried to put another twenty there. Restricted to 11.25 so 31.25 in total so I'm in the same boat as ye lads.

Boots filled at 14/1 now that's laughable considering people can get a maximum of €30 on

Not true, I can't bet with bet365 but got a friend to have a monkey to 35 when I posted the 14s here the other day. He'd the same bet for himself, no idea if he could have got more on

In any case stake size is nobody else's business but the punter. I'm sure what's a "big" bet for me is the equivalent of a throw away tenner punt for others

Look at how easily Penhill wins that Albert Bartlett. Hacks up in the Stayers.

Be some performance on seasonal debut and i dont think and AB horse has won the stayers before? A first for everything though.

First ran in 2005 and I'd say half the winners went chasing the season after. Seasonal debut wouldn't put me off when you consider the trainer.

The Albert Bartlett is an awful race and leaves its mark on horses. Fry’s horse was an exception as he came out of it well but he was a bit older than the traditional Albert Bartlett winner. Bob’s Worth obviously came out of it well too but other horses that win that race struggle after it. It’s a brutal race but in saying that, Penhill won it fairly easily last year. He’s not my idea of a Stayer’s Hurdle Winner though for some reason.

I wouldn't consider it if it wasn't Willie Mullins and if Tom Mullins hadn't said that he is down with him and flying. I'd YKWIMH penciled in as my bet for the stayers.

Am I the only one who has backed Bacardys for Stayers?

Stable don't seem overly confident but still fits the profile as a Gr1 winning novice unexposed at the trip.

Yeah it's a horrible race tbf and should be scrapped. Go back to when we just had the Supreme and the Neptune.

When I watch the AB, I'm just blown away by how easily he won it. Townend was on the outside, he got hampered by a faller and the ground he makes up from the 2nd last to the last is just savage. He jumps the last upsides Monalee, hits the front, starts looking around, Townend gives him 2 cracks of the stick and whoosh away and gone again. I can't believe more hasn't been made of it tbh.

Weapons Amnesty was one who won the Albert Bartlett and followed up in the RSA the year after. I loved that horse, shame he got injured in the RSA. I'd love Charles Byrnes to have another top notcher like him or Solwhit. Would really add something to the Irish NH scene.

Penhill, Unowhatimeanharry, Wholestone are on my shortlist for the stayers. Going nowhere near the front of the market in that race.

L'ami Serge e/w is a cracking bet in the stayers for me, strange prep but hard to see him out of the places.

Watched a video on sporting life and Patrick Mullins said he'd pick Bacardys over Penhill. I'd always be wary of comments from inside this stable but still interesting nonetheless.

It's still odds on that the ground is good to soft on the opening day, and given Simon Claisses comments he seems confident the ground won't be much worse than good to soft.

He also said its possible, when asked, that 'heavy' could feature in the going description.

As i've already said, the forecast is poor and there's a heap of snow on the track. There's no way that ground will have any good in it whatsoever.

    IMHO :(

Augusta Kate is a good ew bet at 25s for the stayers. You look at how she's come on each run this season really needed the 3m and stayed well. Shell have the mares allowance also and she goes on all ground

If she was mine she wouldnt be going there to be honest, has floped at the course twice, keep here for Punchestown.

Yea course form would be her negative but then sometimes you have to give another chance. Just feel she's come on a lot more this year. Would like to see David on her again in stayers

Agreed but is one for the e/w accums I think and you are being a little kind to him there!!

I'll be surprised if heavy features in the description. Turftrax have it as soft with good to soft in places this morning. Could of been a lot worse and we all know how quick Cheltenham dries out.

There's milder weather due but rain forecast from next Sunday which could be the biggest worry but I can't see it getting near heavy.

Saturday is the only day with a forecast of any significant rain, obviously 10 day forecasts are not exactly reliable, but if they have removed the snow and we got the rainfall forecast then it will be Good to Soft, soft in places on Tuesday and Heavy is extremely unlikley.

I decided to do an 'outsiders' Trebles from 10. By 'outsiders', I mean out of the first two in the betting. 120 bets @ 25c units = €30

    Supreme: Slate House @ 20/1
Arkle: North Hill Harvey @ 20/1
    Champ H: Yorkhill @ 8/1
    RSA: Black Corton @ 8/1
    Champ C: Douvan @ 7/2
    X Country: Bless The Wings @ 8/1
    Ryanair: Top Notch @ 7/1
    Stayers: Unowhatimeanharry @ 12/1
    Triumph: We have a Dream @ 8/1
    Gold Cup: Definitly Red @16/1

It's a nice interest in those 10 races for a small wager. No doubt two of them will come in

With this in mind I’ve done a couple at bigger prices in the supreme.
    Vision des Flo 33/1
    Hardline 50/1

Also had a few quid on Samcro at 14s as some of the lads have advised.

I’m acting the balls now, but I love to have a winner in the supreme. Just sets a feel good factor for the week.
Before it all goes to sh!te :pac:
