Well Lidl will probably up sticks and leave - it would be the price of an area that condones that sort of vandalism!

Wouldn't look a bit out of place in a disaster movie. Not joking in the slightest

This is a step way too far, looting is bad enough but this is on another level. I hope the people behind this are caught and are severely punished.

Apart from the pure scumbagerry of wrecking a store and looting from it, these people actually film themselves doing it? Idiots.

Is their video of it ? Idiots as well as pure scum

Hi, I don't post here often, but I'm wondering does anyone have any idea what it's like around Tallaght Hospital. My daughter, a nurse, is trying to get in tomorrow at some stage - her original plan was train from Maynooth at 8 am and then Luas, but looks like no Luas running to Tallaght tomorrow.

Does anyone know any taxi firms around Maynooth/Leixlip/Lucan who might help? Civil Defence and Gardai can't, we've tried.

She was on duty on Thursday and had a very hairy drive home (she offered to stay, they said they were ok, but is on duty tomorrow and if she doesn't show the girls who have been there since Thursday have to stay). Now our car is buried - literally buried (and the battery is flat), not that I'd want to drive anyway.

I've never seen anything like this. We have about four foot I reckon and it's still snowing.

Here's hoping they get what's coming to them legally. That's shocking.

Unfortunately, little will happen to them.

    Empty Cranium.

( took me years to figure that one out...)

Me too. I used to think the MT stood for Mount Cranium like a big mountain that everyone comes to for the answers, a la Wizard of Oz...

Lidl Jobstown. Apparently the guards cant get in as all roads are impassable or blocked. They used a teleported to pull the whole front of the building down. Utter utter scum.

Are the looters good at travelling in any weather?

Oh mh god I can't believe that's actually happening! Lived in Neilstown all my life and never seen the like. Utterly shocking. There's a poster here from McUilliam just a short distance away - can they confirm it's really as bad as it looks? Jesus christ!

Kildare is a world of its own compared to most of the country. Im sure some of the kildare pictures will be in worldwide or european newspapers

Wouldn't it be great if we got back to discussing the weather.....

whats the point in burning and damaging the shop with a JCB? They are gonna have no lidl to go to now when this is over. What is going through these peoples heads?

Wouldn't it be great if we got back to discussing the weather.....

The fact that we seem to be a hair's breadth from MARTIAL LAW would seem to be fairly closely related to the metre of snow in that general area.

    Thanks Thomas.

Up until an hour ago they were saying trains from 8 am.

    Well that's probably that then.

(I accept my mild request is rather overshadowed by the Lidl fiasco :o

Although a poster said earlier they hadn't seen much action in Monasterevin, strangely enough.
