RTE1 RTE2 and TV3 seem to have lost their link to the satellite or that is what my sky box is telling me.

Must be your Sky box. Ours is going fine and we are in Meath so I half expected for the dish to collapse overnight.

Very windy in Tullamore but no new snow since around 9.00 last night. Was looking forward to Snowmageddon but hasn’t materialized. If anything wind is blowing snow away.
Haven't you had snowmageddon for the past few days already? It's been all over the news.

I see the forecast is saying a mix of rain and snow tomorrow - are roads expected to be drivable again tomorrow?

Is traffic moving in the town ok?

I live off Skerries Road and walked down the main road for a looksee. They’ve been gritted but not a single car (or person) was around. Think everyone is staying indoors, safe and warm!

If it's raining this fella doesn't like going out in the rain getting his paws wet. Not today though.

Done with it now. The novelty of it has well and truly worn off. Cant wait for it to melt away over the weekend. Hopefully another decade before it's back

    Same for D13. So disappointing.

Same in Dublin 5 on the coast. Rather disappointed after getting 2 good days of snow I was expecting much more. 10 miles as the crow flies from my home to Rathfarnham & its the worst snow since 1982.

Dublin can possibly get snow in Dublin today. Fingers crossed

Live in north kildare and had to climb out the window to get out and dig out the doors. Snowing much heavier this morning than last night.

Sligo Town really unscathed last night. Fresh dustings on gardens and footpaths. With the wind, depth ranges from nothing, to only a few inches. One side of car totally clear, other side a wall of snow couple inches thick.

If you were to only go by Sligo Town, you could say the Government, and local businesses, over hyped it, reading some of this thread though, think they may it got it right though when taking in the whole country.

North West was actually down graded last night as well.

Stop giving false advice. Employers can still expect you in work legally. Wouldn't be good employers though

Aren't you legally in work even when you are travelling there? So the responsibility of your safety is on your employer if you venture out in this weather?

Met E radar showing all of Dublin covered in blue. Net Weather showing a huge dry spot over Dublin, its not making it over the mountains.

I've been up since 7am and theres only been a few light flakes.
    Clonsilla.

No extra snow at all last night here in south Drogheda , although extremely windy ....... temperatures much milder too , I’m utterly delighted, so are the birds

. Tired of all this over done weather stuff now , wall to wall, back to back media coverage . Jesus how on earth did we manage to live in past weather events !

This has been much less of an event than 2010 and 1982 - lots of snow but no comparison at all !
and the whole country lives in drogheda?

The best thing is, I was dreaming all night that when we woke up the snow was completely gone and it was sunny and warm out and I was so disappointed. Thought I woke up and looked out and the snow from the past few days was still mostly there but nothing new had fallen and it was clearly starting to thaw. And then I really woke up and looked out at that :D:D:D

Saying on the radio there that it's now ok to "venture out" in red warning areas, but that because the warning is still active we shouldn't travel. What the hell is that supposed to mean??

Unbelievable! Never seen or remember anything like this in my 30 years. Was getting worried during the week but worth the wait. Measured 15cms in my backway and a 4 foot drift at my front door! Glad I have a young kid to share this memory with, and thanks to all the forecasters here for keeping us reassured snowmaggedon wouldn't leave us out.

Congrats to the lads in mallow too who seemed to be in the same situation yesterday.

    Whoohoo!!

Into hour 16 and its a total white out in Arklow
    No let up at all
My wellingtons went down full dept and beyond where the snow is level and this is covered over in the last half hour in a combination of the spin drifting and the heavy snow
Out in the fields as I was heading back to the yard,my tracks were completely gone in 5 mins such is the drifting and the heavy snow falling
Even where I was waist deep is covered in
Its very deceptive as you'd be going along go waist deep and then suddenly sink more
Unreal snow falling now, same as all night
    Copious!
