Big gusts now and driving freezing rain here, adding layers of ice on top of the snow.

So when is it expected to turn to regular thick snow again? This has been going on for about an hour now.

Picking up speed here in Ballycullen, D24. Still not proper snow though.

Definitely not raining in coastal Dublin so it’s probably not raining anywhere else.

Lots of this around the country. Heavy stuff is a bit away still.

I'm rolling back on the rain, I opened the front door there, its fine snow. D18 Sandyford Villiage area.

Think I asked this in 2010 - where in D16?

In the main Rathfarnham to Ballinteer/Dundrum and extending up to the Dublin Mountains.

    What come after blizzard 😬

It seems to be a bit of a mystery. I wasn't expecting this crappy slush-puppie shower this evening. I've had snow for 24 hours. Talk of snow/sleet into the weekend but not as bad.

infrastructure i like that like the rotting voting machines which will never get used,if we spent 10 million of snow ploughs and many other things how many times would we see it used.we dont get this weather every year but what the future brings may change.

Step away for a minute to make a cup of tea and when I get back I have to start jumping ahead two pages at a time just to keep up.

Oh great, just posting this has caused me to fall behind by another few pages.

Driving up constitution hill must be fun!!

I spent the day in sarsfields. Anyone driving up that hill better be on an emergency run, otherwise you deserve what is coming to you.

What I was dismissing as mere rain is actually snow because it is whiteout here again in Sandymount,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,645 ✭✭✭Daniel2590

About 2cm fallen in the last hour in D18 even though it's the small fine snow, going to be massive amounts here by the morning!

There's a dimly lit grass area beyond my back garden that my road backs onto.

Someone built a massive snowman facing back towards the houses. Seriously sinister looking git; been glaring back at me every time I check on the snow progress.

Could swear he's moving closer by the hour...

For those interested Siobhans forecast has been uploaded onto RTE player. There was a link earlier but that wasn't the 6 O'Clock forecast

The big fluffy stuff is actually the marginal snow. Wet snow is large and fluffy.

The"rain" that I posted about whilst in my "troll costume" appears to be crystal meth type quality. Small broken bits of ice. It actually resembles a shattered windscreen!

Actually, crystal meth is the best way to describe what is currently falling here in Kinsale!
