I tried going to work this morning and had to turn back.

I would like to give a MASSIVE shout out to the taxi man going the other way. Left his house at 4am to get to Newbridge for 6am. (Distance of about 10-12 kms.) He had to get there because he was bringing 2 people to Dublin for their kidney Dialysis. Fair play to him.

I drive a motorbike and wear a balaclava under my helmet, I usually don't take my balaclava off until I get inside and I've never had a problem.

Your power will be restored at 3.15, hard times as it will mean no shops in the area open either.

    It wasn't forgotten overnight, sadly.
There's about four inches lying where I am, and it looks like there's plenty more to come.

We have gotten away quite lightly in Sligo, bit of a dusting yesterday afternoon, which still remained in sheltered areas at about 7am this morning.

8am, everything is white, seen neighbour clearing car, 15 minutes later, he is out to clear it again. Glad I am not going to far today.

Give that driver day off, full pay! Great save.

Scotland have got an absolute battering. There have been people stuck in cars on the M80 since yesterday evening. Some up to 17 hours!

Man I'd live in this snow for a lifetime rather than live in Tallaght for a week.

Watching from afar I don't get it. This is obviously expected to be an exceptional(to Ireland) and severe event and people are disputing the severity. People were killed in Ophelia. If one life is even saved the warning is enough.

Also bosses expecting their staff to travel greedy twats. Provisions should be in place for such rarities.

Not going to get a medal or so much as a thanks for travelling in so fcuk work today.

Here in the midlands the snow is past ankle deep. My wife had to go to work this morning at 6:30 as she’s a nurse and probably won’t be back for a couple of days… you couldn’t tell where the car was parked.

We’re all ill equipped to tackle such an amount of snow. I am anyway. No shovel to clear the foor path or anything. I fear my shed roof might collapse as well

Hopefully the power won’t go, no hearing then

Not that I could do anything anyway as I’m just post hernia op :( as I type, the snow is coming down good and hard. This might be my last transmission… pray for me.

Our local Centra has posted on facebook that they'll be open from 12pm to 3pm today and have got a bread delivery in.

I'm almost tempted to head down there and film the resulting madness.

Pathetic little snow falls here in D16. The laughable overkill from people and the media is a national embarrassment.
