Can't get set top box in retailers

My set top box died a about two years ago, given that I was in college at night and in Saturdays at the time I didn't bother replacing it.
Now that I'm done with the course and have more time I can't get a set top box in any of the retailers (currys, did etc) they only have the new saorview boxes.

Does anyone know where I could pick up a box, or is ordering online my only option?

Your best bet is really online, far more variety, could try Donedeal and Adverts too for someone local selling new stock.

for the money you would spend on a tv box, your best to pick up a roku/nvidia shield etc - and load rte app onto it(not sure you can do it on a roku actually). you then have netflix youtube etc...... it will be more expensive though.

My broadband is fairly slow so don't really know if it's something worth investing in. Have chromecast for streaming from the tablet to the TV, so really just looking for some additional channels as the Irish ones have ti much reality tv crap on them to bother watching most nights. Thanks for the suggestion all the same might be worth looking into when the rural broadband scheme finally delivers :-)
