    Hi there,

Hoping someone can give me some advice. I do plan to go and talk to an architect but I wont have a chance to do it for a few months. We want to sell our house in the city and move to county Tipperary. We are both 40 this year so we need to get on with it. We have no connections to Tipperary so we won’t get planning to build. There is very little supply at present for the kind of house we would like in the area we want to move to. Cahir/Cashel.
I’m now thinking if we bought a cheap bungalow on an acre or so could we enlarge it significantly. Like if we bought a 900sq foot house, could we extend it to 2400 sq feet? Is this a very expensive way to do it. We just want a house with four decent bedrooms, utility, nice big open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room and a separate good room. Thanks for reading.

We would probably want to do it all for €300-350k. So ideally buy a bungalow for 80-120k and spend the rest on the renovation/extension/architect and other fees.
