Have you ever seen someone on boards.ie in public?

I was on the tube home from the airport just now and thinking about the hundreds of people that must have spotted me scrolling through boards on my phone over the years. Especially given the amount of time I spend on a jam-packed train every day with people inches away from my face.

Have you ever seen someone use boards while out and about? Did you try to catch a sneaky glimpse of their username or try to figure out which forum they were on?

I remember I saw a teacher on Boards well over a decade ago. He was a bit of a P*ick!

I'm guessing boards is mainly male?

They don't exist in real life, sinnerbots, putinbots, Israeli shills etc.

I remember some funny photos a lecturer showed us in a college lecture appearing here, I was guessing this was him.

Yep. Saw a guy on a LUAS posting away a few years ago.

Copped his username. I can confirm that he looks as much as a fcuktard as he comes across in his fcuktard posts.

He still posts here. State of him too.

Yep spotted a poster beside me at a Leinster match a few years ago. He was posting an update to a match thread.

I have two friends from real life that post here albeit infrequently. A work colleague posts very frequently but doesn't know that I know who she is :)

Is your work colleague true to her real self in her posts?

Yes actually. She posts mainly in work and jobs and is very true to her real life persona. She would be a genuinely nice person and keeps that online it seems.

I saw a man looking through Boards when I was sitting behind him on a Dublin bus once. It was ages ago and he was quite attractive. I remember wondering if he might be such and such. Apart from that I have a few close friends who I met thanks to this place and also met quite a few through different meet ups here.

I have sold mainly to boards users through adverts, so, they would know me, talking the back legs off a horse, when it comes to motherboards etc.

I used to share a well known underground internet cafe on O'Connell Street (Dublin), with one or two boardsies for years, back in the mid to late 90s, long before I joined boards.ie.

I sit beside someone in work who is posting for the past while. Currently posting about a serious issue that involves the court. They have told me about it but know more from boards.

    It definitely wasn't me!

It's weird knowing intimate private information about work people that you just about know but I copped on there other posts. Mentioned where there from and interests that I already know. Besides that I know lurkers.

This afternoon I was having a chat with the boss in his office and he wanted to show me something on his PC

Switching between windows there was a brief flash of a logged-in Boards User CP but I couldn't make out the username, I didn't have my glasses on!

Not really met an actual boardsie tbh.

Did have a guy at work come up and ask was I Necrominus from boards though....

Most people I work with know I post here as I have the site open every day on the work PC and I have seen it on other PCs too.

But meh, wouldn't go out of my way to find out their username tbh.

Oh, and my mates recently discovered my username. One spent a long time trawling through my posts to bring up stuff to rip the piss out of me... not sure who's worse tbh.

Yeah buddy, I know you're still watching ;)
