Difference In 4k TVs

    Hi Guys/Gals,

I have been looking at a couple of different 4k tv's for my dad, he likes LG so I have narrowed it down to these two and have been monitoring prices:

    LG 49UJ701V

    or

    LG 49UJ630V

Prices literally do change daily, the bottom one has dropped to £419 several times and the top one is usually closer to £500. I don't mind paying the extra but I am wondering if anyone can tell me what the difference in the two are, they seem fairly similar from the spec but I don't know enough to say why one is better than the other.

    Thanks in advance :D

All I can see is difference in bezel color and stand and perhaps HDR but hard to tell. The cheaper one is currently £399 on Richersounds by the way...

My stuff on Adverts, mostly Tesla Pre Highland Model 3

Cheers, I posted in AV forums too and they said its the difference between edge lighting and direct lighting or something. I'm just realising how out of touch I am with TVs nowadays. It was simpler a few years ago when all I had to look at was refresh rate :pac:

There's also a better sound system on the dearer one apparently.

It's showing £449 now, are you applying a discount code or have they actually changed price this quickly? I'd be tempted to go for it at that price, I don't know if direct lighting would make that much difference would it?

Use code FLASH50 for €50 off, it’s on the page but you probably missed it

Ah crap, I completely missed the big red banner somehow :pac:

I think he has decided on the UJ701V model anyway, he also seems to prefer to get everything from Currys as they have been good with the careplan in the past.

I tried to swing him towards the 6 year free warranty but he prefers the ease of calling into the shop if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the help anyway :D
