Moving wastepipe in a polished concrete floor with ufh

Hi all,

as the title says I'm hoping to rearrange my kitchen units but will have to move the kitchen sink wastepipe to do so. The floor has a polished concrete finish and also (to make matters worse!!!!) has underfloor heating.

I realise that this will be will a tricky job but I'm just wondering if
a. anyone has done this before
b. is this is a really bad idea
c. is there someone that specialises in this type of work and also repairing/re polishing of the concrete floors afterwards

You don’t necessarily need to move the ‘ground pop-up’ outlet. You can run a sink waste line over ground a few meters once falls allows

A. Yes
B. Moving the floor pop-up in a polished concrete floor with UFH : yes, a mental idea
C. Yes but just don’t do it.

Hire a kitchen designer or arch to replan your kitchen

I'd avoid moving it if possible or if its a must do, try bring bring it along right against the wall if possible, less chance of underfloor heating pipes there. Generally they stop the loops a little shy of the walls.

Thanks for the replies and the honesty.

The waste pipe is under an island unit in the middle of the kitchen so I wouldn't be able to run it along the wall.

I think the best thing to do is scrap this idea and look for an alternative.

If you must move the island, you could just cap the pop-up. And bring in a new waste outlet to suit perimeter sink

I had this issue and what I did was have a separate unit attached to the island - bookshelves on one side and a seat on the other. The waste pipe is encased through the units and out to the drain. Technically it makes it a pensinsula but the use of different heights and materials means that it still has the appearance of an island unit.
