Do you not realise that the nature of sport is that every fan generally thinks their team can do no wrong and in the next breath criticises every other team ?

Wouldn't agree with that at all. Fans should be able to see failings in their own team also. If a mayo player broke someone's jaw or gouged someone's eye Id hope he got the proper ban that he deserved.

I think you're taking Bartlett a tad too literally.I very much doubt any county supporter would condone serious foul play.I'd imagine it was a very general comment, the most important word in the post was generally.

Exactly I wasn't on about the Regan incident, I'm talking about supporting a team in general - say for example cynical play and people on about Kerry the last night and then I see Kerry fans on about Mayo players. Whereas the reality is the top teams Dublin, Mayo, Kerry are all cynical. And I agree fans should be able to see their own teams failings - but they rarely do online.

He's 100% fit as far as I know. I dont think he was on the bench against Kerry though, so may not figure in Rochfords plans.

Shame if he hasnt been given a chance after his recovery from serious injury.

With the form Comer is in, he will destroy Caff.

The thing is not to let comer turn. Once he gets going he is like a bull heading for goal. You really need a physically strong guy to go toe to toe with him.
Caff was never a physically imposing player so I would fear for him as well.

Andy Moran's dad passed away today.

    RIP.

Don't think cafferkey will be marking comer. He has drifted out away from goal in Galway's first 2 games. Adrian Varley has been Galway's most advanced forward and I think cafferkey will end up making him.

He didn’t really figure much before his injury either. Even more difficult to make your mark when rusty.

Ya I have seen he drifts in and out but you need someone to track him. They will have loads behind the ball tomorrow like tyrone and try to hit us on the break. Galway football is suited to smaller pitches but croke park is a different spot and easier to beat a team like Galway. I expect this to be tight tomorrow provided we improve from last week

We play better away than at home and have done now for 3-4 years. While I would expect Galway to have too much for us as they seem to be a few weeks ahead I'd still expect a local derby like this to come down to a 2 or 3 point margin.
If we don't find our shooting boots then God knows what will happen. The amount of rain hammering down will leave this a heavy pitch Id expect and might suit the younger fitter team.
Good luck to the ladies also and RIP to Andy Moran on the loss of his Dad.

Yeah that was my point, I don't think cafferkey would be the best suited to track him. Which is why I think cafferkey will probably mark Varley

Any chance of it not going ahead with the weather. Pitch inspection?

Just thinking the same good flurry of snow overnight in Galway.roads slippery this morning.wants a big thaw for a pitch to be playable.id say they should cancel it early and save teams and fans traveling in bad conditions

They really should have an idea early on this morning as the ladies game is due to start at 12.

We don't want a similar fiasco to the FBD game.Going to keep monitoring the Mayo GAA twitter account before I contemplate heading up.

Anybody have any idea what road conditions are like on the Headford and Tuam roads?

Living close to Galway city in Castlegar . Good cover of snow here. Does not look great.

Pitch inspection held at 830 am
    Both games go ahead
Not sure how they can predict what pitch will be like after first game
Double headers this time of year are madness

Snowing heavy up here in Ballina. We'll be watching it on TG4.:(

Salthill will be that bit milder. The games will be fine, it's getting there that'll be the issue.

They are ordaining a new bishop in the city as well today so extra traffic to avoid

Ladies on TG4 right now. Sounds crazy, but it doesn't actually seem that bad a day for a game, even though it's snowing a bit.

    Lovely day in Salthill.:D

Haven’t a hope with caff in full back . It’s like starting with a -5 point handicap betting .
