Why do we still call places by the wrong name?

And Ireland is Irlanda!?

You should go on boards.it boards.es and boards.de and tell them we're called Ireland or Eireann and not Irlanda/Irland

Just look at google maps it spells all those place by their local name in their native language

They are called exonyms

'Londres' is London in French

In Ireland, Kilternan is often misspelt Kiltiernan on road signs.

Cahersiveen has loads of alternative spellings.

In parts of Northern Ireland, locals whitewash the 'London' out of Londonderry signs to make plain old Derry.

The town of 'Truth or Consequences' in New Mexico renamed itself after a popular game show to win a prize!
