    Hi

Can anyone tell me how long it takes from portobello to the airport on the 16 in the mornings between 700am and 8am. Similarly in the opposite direction in the evening between 430pm and 5pm?

Any information on this would be very much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Will this be for work?

I can't give you an exact time. I would hazard a guess that you'd need to give yourself an hour.

If you can get a Dublin Bus annual ticket through Taxsaver you could take the 757 from beside the Bleeding Horse, that should get you to the airport in 45 minutes. Would likely be too expensive otherwise. Aircoach as far as I remember had an Airport Staff discount but you'd have to talk to your employers about that, not sure if Dublin Bus have something similar.

Aircoach staff discounts are avaliable to anyone with a DAA Staff ID.

Price from Lesson Street is €4.00 single.

I have often gotten the 16 at 7.10 from rathfarnham to oconnell street and it can take up to an hour to get into town.
Traffic dependent as you said but the 16 does seem to stop at every stop on the journey and with school kids involved it can be a bit of a slog.

From Portobello at that time of morning, you'd be better off to walk to O'Connell Street or Parnell Square and get the 16 from there.

I'm not sure about early morning, but in general if you're getting the 16 cross city, you should be prepared for the long haul of a journey. You don't get to go anywhere quickly on the 16.
