What the hell do you call it? It wasn't the Middle East they were in.

As no part of Ireland is in, or ever has been in, Britain I certainly wouldn't be contextualising the position of any part of this country as being off some other island called the "British mainland". Very anglocentric worldview. Before the Act of Union in 1800 created the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland", the state/kingdom/country between Ireland and France was called Great Britain, and shortened to Britain. How about still calling it that?

Like Judith Ward, Guildford 4, Birminigham 6, The Maguire Family, The Bridgewater 4 etc...

No they don't. Just look at the Russian revolution to see how quickly rules on private property can change.

this is the handy woork of one of the balcombe street bombers after who you chose your name , responsible for the Guildford bombing and only owned up it it a year and a half later

    Didn't think you would (could).

Good lad Gerry. If Jeffrey (can't believe it's not Daniel O'Donnell) Donaldson or anyone else did the same I'd applaud him/her too (for clarity).

so you reckon he did nothing wrong here then ?

    Back up a bit here.

Let's deal with what you claim was an act of criminality first.

If you cannot or will not provide a source that backs your claim - we'll move on to answering any questions you have for me.

    That sounds reasonable enough chief.

    Your move.

I'm aware of all of them, Harry Duggan, Joe O'Connell, Eddie Butler, Hugh Doherty (Pat Doherty's brother), Brendan O'Dowd (who left after 1974) & was co-ordinated by Brian keenan.
And I'm not going to defend every action they carried out but they injured less people in 6 months than Gerry Kelly did in a day.
And we had bombs here, the RTE studios was blown to bits in 1969, 3 people were killed in Dublin in 72 & early 73, 2 were killed in Cavan, 2 killed in Dundalk, 34 killed in Dublin & Monaghan, 1 killed in kildare, 1 killed in Castleblaney, and I don't remember how ever corupt this state may be innocent English people being locked up for these, infact nobody at all was locked up for them.
A year & half later is alot qucker than Gerry Adams owned up to being the mastermind behind behind the Old bailey bomb & in IRA.

Ah come on now, if Gerry Kelly was really that fearsome nobody would dare clamp his car. Punishment beatings for the clampers.

Apparently he called into a PSNI station for an interview
He decided to let them off with a warning

Well I agree with that, it's just so people don;t confuse it with the North, which is claimed by Britain.
But the state the French helped to create in Ireland was the Republic of Connacht, which lasted less then a month.

You made the claim that he committed a criminal act. You are unable or unwilling (toss a coin) to show me where or what he did that would constitute your assertion.

If you can point me towards anything in law that makes a criminal out of someone for removing a foreign object from their own private posession, I might reluctantly accept that what he did was wrong. So far you seem either unable or unwilling to do so. Balls in yoir court though. ;)

As things stand though - you just look like a random nutter on the net wishing laws exist so that your personal opinion holds more sway. That's not how things work in real life though.

I hope you ain't a cop - cos your knowledge of what equates to criminality is frighteningly stupid.

I'm not at all, millions of people share the views of power being shared really democratically and without a hierarchy of classes and with the working class beinng awakend to Socialism not forced into it by an iron fist. Which is how it differs from Marxism-Leninism. I'd also call myself a Bennite.

How many of you Blue Shirts are left in ireland?

I never saw a car clamped in Ireland. Does that mean it does not exist?

    You got me.

    Thank you for the flippancy.

Grey legal areas in the clamping arena?

What kind of places are these?

Seems strange that a prominent lad in SINN Fein would leave himself open in that situation.

Doesn't seem to be too sure as it would appear he has 'disappeared' for a while.

Just curious what is the reason behind you repeatedly putting the first word in Sinn Féin in capitals.
Is it an in-joke that that I have missed?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    lol blueshirt ??

my shirt is currently green ironically does that annoy you even more ?

Personally I think all of the politicians in Stormont are a joke.
    1) They won't work together
    2) Still get paid for it
    3) Are all glorified county councilors

Is there some imaginary giant clamp that will have to be removed - in order to get the DUP and Sinn Féin to sit down and do thier jobs?

Instead of waffling about guff like this and cash for ash.

They need to catch themselves on (as they say up there).

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

I'm not suprised you have no clue what I'm talking about.

Your a good example of a little knowledge being dangerous.

Can I park my car on your driveway ?mines a bit crowded. Thanks.

You can, I'm quite sure. I'd like to know, however, where and how far I can go in damaging your property.
Choose your words carefully before you simply state that somebody "shouldn't have done something"

A car just slovenly parked in front of a hospital ambulance ramp ought to be removed and post effing haste. A car parked in a back alley or on a yellow line or in front of a metre that has expired should be ticketed, not clamped. And certainly not by a gang of arseholes in hi-vis jackets who have ZERO jurisdiction over anybody's personal property.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,304 ✭✭✭Chrongen

And if the car is left somewhere "restricted or forbidden" for a few days, is it OK for someone to tow it away? Would you sue the tow truck company for any damage?

    Ifs, ands and buts.

If a car is parked illegally, then ticket it. If it is causing an obstruction then remove it.

It's not a very complex concept.
How many vehicles are abandoned for days or just left where they cause a serious obstruction as opposed to those that are parked willfully illegally or accidentally whether the error was as a result of ignorance or failing to meet the time requirements of a meter?

    1 in 100? 1 in 1000?

If cars parked illegally are in the same category as those dumped in front of a motorway off-ramp then why aren't they all bulldozed out of the way?

    Use your fcuking head man.

One very simple question.....what does clamping achieve that a summons doesn't?

Stick to your original issue of outrage and the litany of crimes you claim Kelly (or anyone else who removed a clamp) committed and stop trying to snivel off into "well do you think he is a great guy" territory.

Point out what crime was committed as you asserted. And if you can't, which is patently obvious, then don't irritate people with your watered down deflections such as "so you think he did nothing wrong".

He could be seen to be making a stand against the painting, or plantation if you will, of these yellow lines in the first instance. Or at the very least saying the path or trajectory of these double yellows is in fact a jerrymander.
One way or the other if he is sent down I expect him to lòok for political status.
