Anyone ever claimed on ASTI illness benefit?

    Hello people.

    Has anyone ever claimed this? It says we can get €165 back on dental. But then the small print says we have to have been out of school for 7 consecutive days. It's unclear if the out of school thing is for dental (as this is also for optical expenses and I can't see people missing days of school for when they need glasses).

    Does anyone know if the days out of school thing is also for dental? Thanks

    The out of school thing refers to money you can claim from them during illness.

    For dental/optical you just fill in the form and post it to them with receipts and they’ll send you a cheque. I think the max they will pay you is about €150.

    Perfect! That's what I was thinking. I spent €1000 on a root canal but no way I'd stay out of school for a week with a tooth ache. Thanks.
