I had to replace the EGR in my 13 Passat and since then the heating is not working properly.
It is kinda working, the car isnt freezing and it clears the windscreen.
I brought it to the mechanic yesterday and he says its taking too long to reach the correct temperature and the heat works better when the boot is down but as soon as you lift your foot off the throttle it goes cold again.
He was quite confused by it so just want to check if anyone has seen anything like it before?
It had coolant in it but I topped it up anyway. I've been googling and considering flushing out the coolant tank?

You will loose coolant while changing the EGR cooler on those so the system could be airlocked if you're hearing gurgling.

Is the coolant a good bright pink colour or is it darkened?
