Got one of these a few months ago from a local motor factors, problems starting the car, got a charger from lidl and it's showing 5v on it and wont take a charge (left it for 24 hours).

Going to go back to them, if they offer to replace it - is there any point in getting another one of these 'Start Extreme' makes... is it a dud brand?
I had never heard of them but trusted the local motor factors.

It says Monbat group on the label, 44ah cca:360
    For a 1.4 petrol octavia.

It could be a dud battery, it happens.
Try another one, Monbat are a big battery distributor but I don't know much about their batteries.
Yuasa are good as are most of the big names like Banner, Exide etc They usually have a decent warranty as well. 5 years with Halfords Yuasa 5000 series.
I guess you pay your money and take your chances.

Thanks cj, dropped it back to them - tested it, dead as a doorknob as Dougal would say.
They swapped it for a FIAMM, only 36ah so hope it’s ok.
