What exactly is Corks problem?

Why are they so fvcking insecure? They’re worse than the English with this ‘we’re the best!’ Bull****. Constantly. They hate everyone but Dublin especially. Nobody in Dublin (or anywhere) even cares about them. Ever heard a dub going ‘were the real capital!!’

    Me neither.

Cork was never a capital real or imagined. They just had the port of choice the Brits preferred as it was a path of least resistance.

What exactly is their problem and where does the insecurity come from?

Saw this tonight and it made me wonder.

They're insecure, partly because they're just as **** as Dublin but don't want to admit, jealous of Dublin a little, god knows why, so the logical response is to make up this real capital bull**** and constantly act like arseholes about their insecurities.

I'm from Dublin and can't wait to get a few quid together for a gaff in West Cork. Nowhere beats it.

Something they definitely seem to have missed. Broadly speaking Dublin is easily as much of a dump as cork is. Easily.
If we moved Croker and the gaa down to cork maybe they’d be happy? They have a self entitlement that would take over entire nations apart from ours.

    Maybe they just feel ignored?

The worst I've seen is the Dublin airport takes all mentality. While not terrible on this Boards.ie, it's brutal and hilarious on Facebook!

You mean west Germany. Something like 80% of the houses in west cork is owned by Germans.

Maybe they want the endless congestion and traffic and junkies wandering round? We could export them.

No, I just encounter it a lot. Angry people of cork. I’ve never met any dubs that walk around hating Louth. Or Meath. Or anywhere.

Cork folk, it’s their entire purpose to walk around seething.

    Wasn’t bitching nor ranting.

I was describing. Accurately it seems.

Cork people are a small biteen mad. One of my suppliers is based in Cork. They are the only ones that never look for money, and I mean never. I have to ring them up and ask for the bill. Cork people are sound. Sir Henry's man. Leave Cork alone. They are fully paid up members of humanity for real.

    Read the entire thread.
Donegal is full of smug bastards it seems.

Well when I say full, what’s the population of that county? 6 people? 7?

Generally speaking they keep to themselves though.

So Cork people are whingers, Donegal people are smug.
What are your views on the other counties? You're starting to remind me of Terry on "Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads?". LINK

Media fuelled nonsense. I lived in Cork for 20+ years and only after I left that I heard Patrick Street is referred to by the natives as 'pana' . I guess I just wasn't native enough.

An honest question turned into accidental experiment to see how easily rattled the extremities of our country are. With shouty results.

You never hear anyone from the midlands, say Westmeath shouting about they’re the best. Or Offaly.

Well, who admits they’re from there in fairness. But still! Not a whinger among them!

Guess my biggest question is why aren’t we all on the same page and all love each other as one country. Why aren’t we united. (Well, we’ll get that bit back eventually but in anyways) it’s all so competitive and resentful. No need.
That ****ehawk from limerick isn’t helping on twitter but his podcast is a good listen.

I dunno. I blame u2. They broke this country into smithereens.

The population is a lot less here than it was in 2008. All the young people have gone to Australia, been back and are away again.

By the way, I know your post is a tongue in cheek remark, Im just putting this up for the benefit of viewers who may not realise that the problem of de-population in Donegal is a real one. I have never heard Donegal people described as smug before either... thats a strange one. (and I know you are answering the post above you)

On the issue of Cork, I lived there, and they like Donegal people. Any problems that the Cork people have with Dublin, maybe could be attributed to the assassination of Michael Collins.
