Maybe its just me so, but if they ever make any more documentaries on the case, I won't be watching.

Now, The Jinx was a completely different story. That was a proper documentary.

    The Staircase is even better

I actually download it about a year ago and watched it.

The show itself is one of the worst things I've ever seen.

Basically its a 1hr documentary that theyhave managed to stretch out to 10 x 1hr episodes.

I got very bored watching it. Don't believe the hype.

You could probably do an overview of the whole thing in an hour, sure. But you would miss out on the episodes showing the actual trial, which were utterly fascinating to watch regardless of whether or not people believe the show as a whole was biased.

Nah I'd still have Jinx as the best of those 3

Jinx is the best of the three by a country mile. One of the best true crime docs ever. Maybe the best ever.

I'd also recommend the Paradise Lost trilogy along with the follow-up, West of Memphis.

The Thin Blue Line holds that title

Always in the conversation, a bit dated now though.

Those guys are making a mint off the back of this. Are they even involved in the case anymore? If leaves a bitter taste.

Exactly my thoughts. It’s a pure cash grab. I’m sure the demand is there but could they possibly have much new information since the last time they did this “tour”?

Only watching MAM now , halfway through E4 .
Poor Brendan , how on earth was his "confession" considered credible ? The poor chap was basically told what to say , and write in the office before that , so wrong..

Just watching the last episode now .
The whole thing is so fcuked up and sad tbh .
    Teresa's family lost a daughter , a sister .
    Stevens family lost a son , a brother , and a nephew/grandson .
The police lost credibility with their actions .

There were no winners in this case .

    Just my opinion :)

Just finished the staircase and I thought making a murderer was far more intriguing.

Watched the staircase few years ago and watched it again with all the new episodes and to be honest I think it's better and I'm still in two minds over it I'm siding on the innocent but then his personality makes me want him to be guilty.

mod: guys, if you want to discuss The Staircase, take it to the (admittedly small) thread that already exists. I don't think it's fair to others in discussing the particulars of a separate show.

mod: I've moved The Staircase posts to the above thread, if anyone wishes to continue the discussion, feel free to do so there.

Another 15 hours of selected facts and part fiction en route.

Looking back, is there anything more pathetic and cringing than people starting petitions to Obama to get this guy released on the back of a one sided documentary?

With most documentrays theres always going to be bias at least some what.
I dont find it cringy at all if people want to start a petition ir sign a perition, thats up to them let Obama decide or who ever got to read it what to do.

Whatever else it was, it was a waste of time - the President can only grant pardons to those convicted of federal crimes. Since he was convicted of a crime in a state, only the Governor of that state can grant a pardon - which he refused to do.

It is cringe if you base all your beliefs on a one sided documentary.

True but it's one heck of a story I don't think part two will be anywhere near as good because they can't be man at surprises ow we have all heard so much about what's been going on.
