    Byrwin:
"Hey kids want to come outside for a surprise?" asks Ash and they all rush outside.

A trader in a metal carraige awaits outside.

"Hey got this week's deliveries, where is the old woman, the community leader?"

The pub then explodes and Ash puts on her goggles to look straight at the flames.

"I love the smell of asphalt in the afternoon" she grins as masonry collapses about them.

OOC: I actually originally planned you to enter the keep and the village be of little interest

Ooc : you saved the sex cannibal babies? They grow up to be full size sex cannibals!

    Othegre approaches the Trader
"Thank the gods you're here! We barely managed to get out of there with the children in time! I... I'm not sure if anyone else got out...
I don't know what we're going to do now. I just...

    What kind of supplies?
Maybe we can rebuild... build some sort of a life... for the kids... "
Othegre, in full flush, lets the tears come. It's not hard, thinking about all the blood that's boiling away in that fire.

    Byrwin:
The trader is slack-jawed with shock.

"What caused all this? How did the pub explode!"

"We don't know - there was a lizard folk attack a few days ago, some warriors from Zassan helped with the defense and they were injured and the old lady was keeping them in her hut and wont come out and we were all in the tavern and there was this hissing and all we could do was grab the kids and run and now they're all dead and we're helpless and we need your help and you're not helping and why are you not helping!"

OOC : It's just us and the kids now. If he's alone, I'm flailing him. Any kid doesn't like it is dinner.

How many kids, by the way?

As he climbs the stairs Kal gets a delicious smell. He enters a brightly lit room with two finely made chairs draped with silk. A book lies open on a coffee table "History of Zassan: Volume II". Two bookcases complete the room.

The coffee on the table is still warm and next to it is a plate with a small cage over it. Within are two gingerbread men.

"Dragon! If you're good, please free us!"

Kal looks around for a few seconds before he realises that they're talking to him. 'Oh yeah! That's me now! Fairies and sentient biscuits, this house is truly a wonder! Are you guys the afternoon snack? Where is the owner of this coffee?'

Kal wanders over to the table and has a quick flick through the book to see if there's anything useful in it.

    Old Roads Day One:

    OOC: No problem.

The dwarves inform him of their names. Thonar, Angin, Garnvo, Gommod, Indgim, Yerlar (the thief).

The journey is mostly uneventful for the first few hours, until they come to an old watch post blocking the way, the cavern narrowing to require passage through it.

"Must be one of the old registry posts" says Yerler.

The Dwarf skeletons about the door of the watch post however are distorted and cracked. It is two levels tall.

I stand to the side and slowly push the door open, positioning the dwarves either side with their weapons at the ready. If nothing comes out, I will enter slowly, leaving a dwarf to watch the rear

OOC: Seven children and he is alone.

The children are crying too much to even listen to Othegre. The salesman looks pitifully at the whole scene.

"Well I could give all of ye a ride in my covered wagon, anywhere ye were thinking of going?"

"Yeah we're the afternoon snack! The owner popped out for a bit. Please get us out of here dragon!!"

The book contains a chapter laying out the lower floor of Dwacatra as it was 100 years ago, Kal's draconic mind memorises it perfectly.

OOC: If ye get to Dwacatra I'll give you the map of the first floor.

Flak continues to sleep the sleep of the innocent.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

[OOC: awwwwww yussss, this dragon stuff is the BIZZ!]

Kal looks at the gingerbread men with pity, 'if you're for the lord of the house I don't think I should be interfering with ye. I'm sorry but I'll have to leave you to your fate'.

If there's no other way out of the room, Kal will head back down the stairs to the corridor past the kitchen.

Returning to the corridor Kal now notices extra doors. In addition to the one to the North (Kitchen), South and East, an door to the South has appeared in the middle of the hall and also two extra ones to the North. Flak is sleeping against one of the doors to the North.

OOC: The guy is a regular human (Level 0) so I won't bother with the fight mechanically.

Othegre's flail wallops into his head as Ash grips her wrench in front of the children.

"You won't touch these babes you degenerate cur!" she roars.

His eye sockets are shattered on impact.

Ash flings open the back of the wagon.

"Look Othegre at this meat, this sick son of a bitch must have killed a score of people to get this much. I'll empty it out and get the children in."

Simon begins to speak "I think that's just animal meat, he wasn't even from the village...."

"Who knows how widespread this cult is" replies Ash, "they probably have a sex-fueled granny every few miles, sorry kids.....the surface is a real dog eat dog world."

"wait Ash! You're right! There could be another granny on her way here right now! We have to get that talisman. We need to go in to that keep."

Othegre returns to the Witch's hut, dragging out the dead Zassanite and the witch out, confirming they have no other valuables and throws them onto the trader. She gathers some flotsam, builds a pyre and sets them alight.

Othegre and Ash herd the kids into the hut. She checks on the condition of the remaining Zassanite.

"We'll hole up in here. I need to rest. Then I'll check out the keep. If he wakes up, find out what he knows. He might be a victim, and maybe he can get us to Zassan when all this is done. Kids, I need you to be brave. Everything is going to be fine. How many of you are girls?"

OOC: Three doors North, the original one to the kitchen and now two extra ones.

Kal opens the eastern doors and is greeted with an indoor forest. Near him are two tigers who back off upon seeing that he is a dragon. Looking a bit into the forest he can see a gingerbread village, a bridge with some billygoats arguing, a tower, a church of some kind and a woman sleeping next to a unicorn with a chest in her lap. To the northwest is a field of flowers.

The roof is a quarter of a mile high painted blue with crude white clouds done in chalk.

    OOC: Hexes are one mile

    08.06 - Tower

The beasts at 00.03, 00.04 and 01.03 are the tigers.

'What a strange house this is!' Kal eyes the tigers warily 'do you guys talk too?'

If he gets no response he'll head toward the billy goat bridge.

"Yes we can speak. Welcome to the forest, we probably need a dragon."

"That's great! And any of you brother and sister?"

Othegre notes the answers. Before settling down, she flicks through the Witch's books looking for any potions, compresses or whatever you call those little pendants made of herbs, you know the ones, that sound interesting or useful. Then it's time to rest.

When the sun sets she rises from a restless snooze and begins her ritual of prayer to Jammai - poring over Simon's web for a sign of her lady's intent and then getting the kids to compete in athletic events while she gambles with Ash on the outcome.

And then there's no more putting this off.
She hefts the Mace gifted her by the Fire Dwarves and ask's Ash's opinion on it.

"Those cheap surface dwelling scrotebags! Can't make weapons. Can't dig convenient tunnels to major population centres. They weren't dwarves, they were just... short humans. I'm rolling Dwarrowtown style" she declares, favouring her trusty master-crafted flail. She leaves the mace with Ash just in case.

"Look, bestie. I can't stress this enough. I need you to stay calm out here. Do it for me. Do it for the kids. Do it for yourself. I don't think sleeping beauty over there is a threat. Keep an eye on him but don't thwonk him the second an eyelid flutters. He was a victim in all of this just the same as you and me. Now, I have a couple of things to do then I'm going into that keep. Stay here, get some sleep."

Othegre goes outside and looks for intact bodies.

OOC :Yes I have been reading the other thread :D
Spells loaded (Cleric) : Cure Light Wounds, Light, Protection from Evil, Bless, Hold Person, Find Traps, Animate Dead, Dispel Magic.

"I'd like to come with you, but I suppose I'm not the adventurer. I'll take care of the children."

Othegre picks through the rubble, finding six bodies with all their limbs intact, though badly burned.

Othegre advises Ash to keep the door closed and ignore anything she might hear....
    "arise! Arise!"

    Ooc : animate dead.
Assuming no unforseen repercussions, off to the keep next.

    "Sure thing Dragon.

Well we were born in the house, our mother was a pet of the current lord's father, she herself was from Osinzir. This room is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside so it's really the least cramping place in the house for us."

They reach the bridge where three Billy Goats are arguing, one has a milky coffee next to him and is wearing a scarf and glasses. He speaks the most.

"You really have to sell the role Gerald, when I hear you I just don't hear a rural goat in danger, more a middle class house goat who missed this morning's feed....oh tigers, good morning, who is your friend?!" he asks with an intense look of interest on his face.

Kal floats up a few feet in the air. 'Good to meet you sirs, I am Kal the Dragon, a visitor to this house. I am thoroughly enjoying my visit so far. I'm killing time while my friend in the corridor rests up. What is happening here?'

The devine energy washes over the bodies and four villagers who are practically skeletons stand. A single villager who died from impact after being blasted from the pub rises as a zombie.

The skeletons simply stand awaiting orders, but the zombie mouths "uuuuhhhhh" while staring at Othegre.
