Looks like it will be on the grounds of Curraghmore House on the weekend of 3/4/5 August and will be organised by POD. Interesting stuff.

I was reading about that yesterday, could be brilliant if done properly.

Given the organisers of the event are POD I'd expect the line-up to be of a high calibre and a step up from Daytriper.

Sounds interesting, hoping for a good lineup (all subjective of course!) Wonder would this have an impact on Daytripper (need to offer something different) and Spraoi (given the dates)?

Anyone know what capacity this will have? One of the lads heard it'll be 5000 a day which could affect who will be playing.

Doesn't seem to be much info at all on this. Cant imagine it being huge due to distance from Dublin/Cork but Curraghmore Estate is absolutely huge...

What has Dublin/Cork got to do with it, if the right acts are there then people will travel, E Picnic, Slane etc...

possibly indie bands will be playing at it

if so and it's a decent line up I'll give it go

be very nice not having to travel to places hours away to see a band

Ehhhhhhhhhhh.. Electric Picnic and Slane are near dublin.....

Of course people will travel, never said they wouldn't, but distance could swing it for many hence it making more sense to have it as near to the largest population centres as possible.

requested being the word theresure look if they got one of those, then pad it out with the usual local Irish acts, 2 hour set from GDE, King Kong Co are bound to show up, a few of these lads with acoustic guitars singing about losing women - thats your gig sold. That's the usual formula for these kinds of festivals these days

According to the News & Star it will be camping. 10,000 people it says will attend, don't know if that's every day or over the weekend. No details on how many will be camping either.

They need to get the balance of acts right - don't want the place to be a skanger weekend.

The Prodigy's day was over 25 years ago - i think the skangers would have mellowed as they approach their 50th birthday.

Early Bird weekend tickets on sale next week 150 quid, no line up yet, so no idea if that's good value or not.
some more details : 10k capacity, kids under 12 free with families, strictly over 21s otherwise, 10 stages and an outside crystal ballroom.
More announcements due in days to weeks

As this is now being called a family festival with arts and comedy etc i doubt the likes of underworld or the chemical brothers will be playing at it sounds more like its going to be a hipster love fest

Electric picnic seems to be popular though and successful

Loads of kids at Electric Picnic and they've had acts that make underworld and chemical brothers look like the telly tubbies

Arts and comedy often get mentioned in festival descriptions because they are probably getting some Arts Council funding
