    Thought I was doing brilliant.....
You are. I have 3 gold gyms!

Thar is an impressive gold to gym ratio! I've only got 9 gold gyms from my 650+. And one was a rural costa rican gym that noone touched for 30 days...

    Kells group event day,
3 Kyogre Raids during the event and 1 after.... There was also one at the start but we were shy by 1 for numbers.
I personally caught 30+ Pikachu, but when I got my second Shiny (to evolve to Shiny Raichu) I was happy and went into mass evolve mode for an hour.
Brought xp up by 400,000, 1.9 million shy of Level 40.
    Random stats
Kyogre 5/8 1 of which is perfect
Shiny 7 and 7 different ones at that

Visited Dachau concentration camp today and it was good to see that Niantic removed all the pokestops and gyms from the place (over 41,000 people died there). Can't imagine people wanting to do raids or battle gyms in such a place :/ I believe they've done the same thing in Auschwitz too.

Highly recommended as a place to visit and do an excellent E3.50 guided tour if anyone's ever in Munich.

On a lighter note I saw my first relicanth today so that's a shadow ticked off for gen 3 :)

2 shinies and 2 lucky egg evolves. No kyogre about on a day when many players are about town is just typical. Haven't thrown a ball at a kyogre yet.

At least I've thrown a ball now, but 0/2 on Kyogre. He keeps double or even triple attacking while my ball is in the air!

Random question - how many unique gyms has everyone visited? Has anyone hit 1000 yet?

You can see the number in your gym page and clicking on the map icon on bottom left.

I'm at 662 so far - I think "collecting" gyms will be an end-game motivator after I reach lvl40/caught most of the interesting mons...

Have exactly 200 medals , and 61 one of them are gold , really enjoy that part of the game , working 7 more at the moment , after that they will be drying up as outside my walking/cycling range.

Myself and my lads did another absol raid tonight. Amazing when you pick the right mon's what a difference it makes, we beat it with 70 seconds left on each on our third guy (or gal). Last time out beat it with 2 seconds to go without the right team.

Ya well worth doing a bit of research of the web and having a ready team , i was hoping they would increase the number of Party teams from 5 to 10 as I find it very handy. I used to struggle with Tentacruel a while back when going with recommended team , but with a targeted group of mons I now beat him with 60 seconds on clock.

Some kind soul kicked my 2 Heracross out of my local gyms 2 weeks ago and popped a Relicanth into one of them.
Nice to get a shadow but I suspect a spoofer as I didnt recognise the name of the Instict player. (Both gyms alternate red/blue 95% of the time)

    On a related note;
A mate travels to the US quite a bit. He is unfortunate enough to have received an EX invite for this coming Wednesday........but he will be in Dublin not the US.
Personally I think its hilarious, he is a little less pleased though. He started playing a while after me, I wouldnt want him having a Mewtwo before me!
He was dreading it to happen since the EX raid system was rolled out!

    311 caught/ 320 seen.
    64 Hoenn pokemon

People have been letting friends/poké colleagues log in to their account to try and catch mewtwo vicariously. I'd say this is a pretty legitimate reason to let someone else have temporary access to your account...

I too think its a good reason to try.
He said he looked at spoofing options but didnt feel comfortable rooting his phone. He doesnt have anyone in Chicago to ask either, those bank8ng types are all very serious! He is resigned to having to wait.

Could always go on to the pogo chicago reddit/facebook group etc and see if there's anyone who knows him/he trusts to give access to account (pretty dangerous I know as you're giving someone access to your google account).

    Speak of the devil...

So new ex raid passes are out - MsThirdfox has one in Munich...Mr thirdfox however :/

And it's scheduled for when we're supposed to have flown back to Ireland (4 days after).

I asked my wife and she prefers to not mess up our schedule... Looks like the wrong person got the raid pass :D

    Bugger.
It does seem like a lot more passes being given out (just going by posts on facebook groups) so I guess we just have to be patient.
Personally Im not stressing over it. It will gappen for me someday.

    Whoaaa.
Will Dratini's will be as pervasive as Pikachus were on Saturday?
Dragonites for everyone in the audience.

I expect it will be , i have gold on Dragon badge already but I think it will be a good opportunity for a lot of people to get theirs on the 24th.
Looking forward to adding some stardust on the day ,100k should be possible ,although we have had 2xstadust at previous events for a week which is where huge gains can be made.

Yep, three hours isn't as good for dust as it is for xp. And to get my seven day streak on a saturday I'd have to catch nothing at all the previous saturday, which isn't easy as its a prime PoGo day.

Shiny dragonite would be nice though, if there is one

    Good people of boards.
Today I again tried my “son’s” first Tier 3 solo.
The last time I tried Porygon I went in completely unprepared didn’t even get it into the red.
Today I consulted Pokebattler and assembled a team.
For windy conditions Machamp, Dragonite and Hariyama are 3 of the top 4 recommended, so I thought I was well set with the team on the left of the pic.
Their move sets were neither the best nor the worst.
When I got to the gym, PoGo recommended a completely different team, the one on the right.
I’ve read that the game favours mons with staying power over glass cannons when recommending a team, but the selection seemed the opposite to me.

    A2hOqph.png

Anyways got it into the red with 36s left, but Espeon fainted around the 10s to go mark (and I swear 1 more CM would have taken out Mr Porygon J)
At that stage the raid had finished and I couldn’t go back in with the recommended team to see how that would have gone.

    So what do ye think?

    · Was I sh1te at battling and should leave it to my son in future?
    · Shudda gone with the recommended team?
    · Power up what I’ve got?
    · Wait for mons with 100% move sets?

I'd power up the Machamp a bit more anyway, if you got both of those up to 2000+ it would be a fair bit easier. As for the team the game recommends, it always picks stuff that resists the opponents moves, and tends to ignore what would do the most damage. That's why the game keeps recommending I bring a few Cloyster when I'm battling a Blizzard Kyogre, despite those doing very little damage to a Kyogre. I'm guessing it had something like Hyper Beam if it suggested Gengar, Skarmory, and Rhydon.

    Josip,
Not sure if you read this recent article on pokemongohub.net , might also give some more insights - https://pokemongohub.net/gym-raid-update/porygon-solo-raid-guide/

I used to struggle to beat Polygon too previously till i figured out my best team after a bit of research , I can now beat him with up to 60 secs remaining.
I go all in with Machamp but 3 of mine are over 2500 CP , 90IV and have best moveset - Counter/Dynamic Punch , but I think usually i can win before I get to 4th mon.
I do tend to dodge the charge move though , Solar beam esp can wipe you out.
I dont have any decent Hairyama myself but believe they are effective too , so would agree with Anrgon that powering up the Machamps is best option
For me it is easiest 3 star raid so will always take one on when i can.
Im usually comfortable with Sycther too.
I dont bother with Omastar or Gengar any more , had prob <50% success rate on them so dont bother any more , very frustrating when only need another few hits but clock runs out.
1/1 on Machamp , want to try him again , clock was at zero when i beat him last time.
Have a team ready to try Alkazam , waiting on the right moveset too as can be v difficult with some of his.
