Very good. Is it so much a scoop or do you go over weigh bridge?

I think BnM sell it by the cubic meter. We buy it locally by the load.

I see our local contractor drawing it in a silage trailer.....seems to be drawing it for hire, at least a load per day

Yeah seen him. Was thinking of doing the same myself

They measure the trailer in m3 and charge ya from that. That's where I have the advantage. They only load artics and silage trailers level to the top but will pile up the likes of my trailer so I'd say I'm getting and extra m3 or two

How many cubic metres did they charge you for?

Don't ever switch hands in the middle of putting clusters on a cow. Real waste of time. Now you can and should do different cows or the different lines with different hands.

    4. That's the trailer level to the sideboards

I'd say Reggie you're heading for double that. Great value.

Usually get it fairly level to sideboards but said I'll get them to heap it as I'll just use the extra for the calves in March. Thought I'd be charged more but my account says 4m3 so once I don't change the trailer I'm sound I believe

Have sheep and cattle here. Much prefer working with the sheep. They are way more intelligent than the cattle.

    That's the trouble.

It's slower but I swap the weight bearing hands on every cow. So hold the bowl with your right hand and put on the two left side cups (front and back) with your left hand then swap and hold the bowl with your left hand and put on the two right hand side cups.
I'd be a terrible slow relief milker and I've only a small number of cows but I've never had pains in my wrists from milking.

Ive heard of switching hands each row alright, hard to do it on a rotary though

    Better living everyone

Any opinions on Kaiwaka rain gear - I'm thinking of buying a bib and brace as I find my current waterproof trousers keep slipping and there are no lugs to fit a belt.

Suprised no one has commented on the above here. Its one thing the government using CPO's for public projects like roads and sewage schemes - but we are getting into dangerous territory when the government of the day decides to pass laws allowing landgrabbing by big corporations:mad:

What do you think of CPO'ing land for the Greenway/cyclelanes ?

It's a slippery slope to start going down

They'd be more under the heading of "public goods" like roads, water pipes etc. - though obviously one would prefer them using the likes of old railway lines etc.rather than going across conventional farmland(There is a public right of way going though my place atm and is used by dog walkers etc. - thankfully well behaved for the most part!!). I think though what the government is proposing is a very different beast in terms of allowing private big business to target any landowner it likes for its own benefit/profit margin. It reminds me of some of the practices of despotic regimes in Africa that allow vast landgrabs by foreign corporations:(

I don't think thats a very good example cos the number of permanent jobs there was very small, data centres only require a skeleton staff to keep them ticking over - plus the state via our energy bills would have to stump up a huge amount of money to supply the data centre with power infrastuture at such a location.

Oh and daughter both have bronchitis. I asked doctor what cough medicine is best , she said none of them, honey and lemon is the best cure for a cough . Most bottles of cough medicine cost at least 5 euro

I'll have a look to see if the wax option is available here but they are not on that website.

I don't think any of the old rail line routes were ever returned to private ownership. I know here in Cavan that the County Council claim to have ownership of the actual track bed.

Now there are people with slatted houses built on the old track, and in Navan loads of private housing likewise, but for the purpose of creating Greenways the Council seem to have a free hand.
