I've attached a pic of what I'm working with (an old picture, I'm not currently at home watch old episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark unfortunately).

    Attachment not found.

The ambilight TV I'm looking at is a TV i want regardless of the lighting effect so I really shouldn't worry but I've grown fond of the idea of having it working. I didn't know you could adjust brightness and all so that would surely help if it proves annoying having all the left sided light on the wall.

yep I understand better what you're working with. As the wall is dark (assuming it still is) it shouldn't glare really and as already stated it can be turned down if needed.

Here's a pic of the lights up full for reference on a light background

That is way too long to be waiting.i would ring littlewoods ireland and tell them this is the last time you will be contacting them, tell them the next correspondence will be from your legal representitive.

    Just for anyone else experienceing problems with 4K output, specifically with Sky Q;

The default 4K settings on the TV are not compatible with the Sky Q box (4:2:0 vs 4:4:4/4:4:2 IIRC).

In General Settings on the TV there's the option to change between the two.

I had swapped HDMI ports around thinking that was the issue.

Not yet, was on to them and was told they have to wait for the TV to be returned to the warehouse from the courier, then a refund would be processed with 24 hours. Not holding my breath.

does it list all the soarview and satellite channels in one list or you do have to toggle between the two?

Yes it can, it can be set from 0 to 10 and/or to follow: Video, Audio, Colour or App.

Note: I am talking about my TV only (model 55PUS6272/05) and not the one listed at the start of the thread as that does not have ambilight.

Well worth a punt at that price, although it is out of stock everywhere.

For me, when I click choose size there is the 55inch for the same price. Might be worth it's own post if that's an even better deal...

Is there anything in the pipeline to replace these TVs? I've seen an 8K tv but it was a few grand and I can't see that becoming the norm for a while. Do most people think 4K HDR be the main standard for the next 5 years?

About the 50 inch just posted, will saorview work on this it only mentions freeview.

Nope, as I stated a few pages back, this one does not have android. TBH it doesn't need it unless you want it for Kodi or stuff like that as amazon/netflix apps are there.

The next buzzword will be native HFR (high frame rate). ie content shot, delivered and displayed at 120fps or even 240fps.

It will be talked about this year (and it will be a selling point of some models launched soon), but realistically it's going to be many years before it's something the average person will want their TV to support.

In any case, the majority of HDR TVs on the market cannot satisfactorily display a HDR image. They can accept the signal and process it but the panels on your typical €600 LCD are nowhere near good enough to do justice to HDR. So even without new standards they will find reasons to sell new TVs for many years to come.

Looking again at the 50" three sided on amazon, super deal.
For whatever reason, they have the 2 sided one also at £449 so it makes it a no brainer

    Hi
The 3 sided 55PUS6272 is in Argos for €609 & stock available.

Will Parcel Motel deliver it from Amazon at £499? (Is it a €25 Delivery fee & has anyone done this?)

    Thanks in advance!

If it's the same model as the one you want and its less than 40 euro difference between uk and ireland, I'd just go with agros. Should you need to return it for any reason it's gonna be a world of less hassle to deal with plus you will get it quicker.

Will do! What do people think, will Argos try and charge the higher price or will they take the reservation email price?

Let me know how you get on! Rang Argos as I didn't get a ready for collection text, he says it may be just a late delivery or a glitch on the system and I'll have to rereserve, of course he then tells me it's out of stock everywhere...

They should let you have it for the lower BUT only if you speak up, they will quote you the higher one to start with. They did that to me on a PS4
