Aaron Browne a high profile u20 second row who seems to have given up the game after injuries.

Was playing with old Wesley at the start of the season i thought

Would rate Baird ahead of Dunne based on sct but haven’t seen Dunne play ail or for ireland

both are academy worthy IMO, but rate Baird as best 2nd row prospect since James Ryan.

both are better prospects than Dowling IMO

If it is limited to 5 more my best guess at who will get in would be Silvester, SOB/Dean, Paddy Paterson and 2 of Cormac/Jack Dunne/Max/Clarke.

    My guess pre 6 nations:

    Cormac Daly(2nd row)
    Jack Dunne(2nd row)
    Max Kearney(Backrow)
    Patrick Patterson(Scrumhalf)
    Harry Byrne(Outhalf)(u19)
    Conor Dean(Outhalf)
    David Hawkshaw(Centre)(u19)
    Michael Silvester(Fullback)

Dunne has been outstanding for Trinity this year-totally at ease with Div 1A

Have seen Dean a few times this year and not impressed-goal kicking not consistent and doesnt command a presence at 10. In Marys he is definitely behind Sean Kearns. Dont see him as a pro whatsoever

we shall see how he goes at ireland u20 level.

But he is clearly rated in Leinster as he has been involved with A teams since last season.

I'd rate Harry Byrne ahead of him though and could see a scenario where Dean doesn't get a deal from Leinster.

  • I know it's a bit of a guessing game for guys still in school, but Hawkshaw has potential to go on and be pretty good by the looks of things?

    Yeah, I really rate him.

Totally agree and dont know why Leinster rate him so highly-C Frawley is a better 10 and L A playing him at 15 which i just dont understand

Frawley is an interesting one, I don't think they see him as having a future at professional level at 10.

He is a good to very good athlete, 15 could be a better long term fit than 10 or 12.

On Dean, Peter Smyth has a long term connection to him so they may play a factor.. i've been saying for awhile that what happens with Dean/Byrne/Hawkshaw would be interesting.

Sean kearns hasn’t been ahead of him since the Blackrock final in 2013 when dean was on the bench while being underage for jct, also two years starting 10 for Irish 18s and Irish 20s , sounds like a future pro to me

Don’t think Byrne is ahead of him to be honest and although Byrne might play 6 nations this year he might not start next year

I think it's pretty close right now and Byrne is a year younger, long term i'd rate Byrne higher.. but it's early and could change based on 6 nations.

Byrne may not start next season, but he may this, worry about next season, next season.

Yeah he is a future academy player, is that at Leinster?

I'd say that's debatable now, will know better post 6 nations.

Quick question , where do you see hawkshaw fitting in for Irish 20s next year ? Only place I can see him gettin In is at 12 and he’ll be up against some strong competition from the 2 Munster lads and kernohan

it really depends what position he plays.. too early to call now

2 munster lads being who? O'Gorman and ?

Overall talent I'd go Hawkshaw - Byrne - Dean. Hawkshaw the only one for me who might not be a 10 long term. Can't really see Dean being at Leinster long term if he does get an academy contract.

Kieran Dunne! Yeah it’s hard to call it’ll depend on how they want to play I guess but it will be interesting to see how hawkshaw adapts to being in the centre

I wouldn't worry about him adapting to centre, he has all the skills/talent needed. Physcially he's be short for the position but he is fairly well built.

Hawkshaw named at 12 for Belvo vs Gonzaga in the first round of the Senior Cup

Ya I agree his size will be the only issue , his running game probably suited more to 13 but can’t see him starting there personally but as a second receiver at 12 would work

Really? Who’s at 10? They did the same with Jennings in his final year to give hawksahw the shot at 10 so there not afraid of big calls
