hard to find phone flip cases

Hello, i want a flip case for my alcatel A3 XL 6" Phone - trouble is , never being one for sticking to the norm I am looking for something like this that flips down:

All I can find are these type that flip at the sides :

- I can find a plethora of them from loads of places including ebay and amazon. I wonder why the market seems to have gone to this , flipping out the front cover to the side rather than flipping out downwards? - i cannot see the benefits if there are

That or ebay is probably your best option. Depending on the seller on AE, you might get the option to pay for quicker shipping but its generally not a lot quicker and not worth the cost of paying extra.

the ones that go down look a bit silly imo due to being too long - especially when taking a picture - personal opinion.

These are all vertical flip case from either UK or Germany based seller. All the German ones are the same seller i think, just different colours. Not very cheap but they'd probably arrive in a week. Hope something there is of use to you Andy.

oh cool - yeah that would be the one .... only in black, not brown .... and for an A3 XL

no, i quite understand where you are coming from - thats most probably why they are hard got hold of because people prefer these ones that fold at the side instead

Blimey thanks, how the hell you found them and I didnt! - I was spending ages on ebay trying this kind of case and all I was getting was the side opening cases.

Now, the only other issue (which I may have to swallow if I really want this type) is that the side opening ones are around 4 quid and these ones listed are around 17 quid! - I cant seem to have my cake and eat it at the moment. - but thanks agin , at least now I know they still do them

I found them via the eBay app for Android at the time, but I think it was somehow set to eBay UK as well, because the links I copied from the app had the UK domain. Don't honestly know if that made a difference or not.
(I had to remove some "rover.ebay" stuff to get the basic links, I don't know what that "rover" stuff ebay injects into links is all about, but I find Chrome doesn't like it. Probably some referral/affiliate thing I suppose.)

I think the only cases I could find in the sub 5 or 6 quid price range were all China based, so while in my limited experience eBay or Amazon is a bit quicker getting stuff delivered from China than Aliexpress, it would probably still be a couple weeks longer than you'd like to wait. There's also a possibility with the cheaper cases that you will get some generic type of case that doesn't have the cutouts right, etc. (Despite the ad saying it is for such a phone.) Might be worth the few bob to avoid that.

yes this could very well be one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of scenarios, although in the past i have bought generic cases for other mobile phones around the 4 quid mark and I couldnt really fault them - apart from questionable when they call them 'real leather' on their listings ! :rolleyes:
