Had she tubes in her or will she be able to start filling the tank again after a few days ? The poor ould cratur will earn her nuts this year :D

Yes dry cow tubes. I was looking at her yesterday and didn't think it was springing only that she was just dried off. I dont have any "proper" biestings for that calf. Gave it an at birth tube from osmonds and getting some milk from a neighbour later

Is the calf sucking the cow ? I know its not ideal but we would have had a few slip ups that werent dried when they calved and I think the calf still got enough biestings . As I said its not ideal but if she had a week dry its surely a help to develop biestings

Saw the post in the teagasc page, didnt see the actual footage but i cant imagine it painted a great picture. I have great respect for Al seems to be a good farmer to be fair to him now. His comment about how one lads girlfriend was messaging him about his interest in older ladies in the group was priceless

What I didn't like was that he stated that he got 6 complaints so banned the man in question. No warnings or proof just banned him. If that was the case sure a group of people could go around getting people banned no bother

I don't really be on it much but it seems sometimes to be his way or no way. Also the moderation on the teagasc page is non existent.

That was another thing. Banned your man over something his missus apparently messaged him. Seems as Whelan said....its his way or no way

I try not to get involved in politics even if it is some farming internet forum type of politicing.
Your man seems to have set up the group so it seems only right that he can decide what goes or not.
If anyone is not happy with it they can set up their own forum/group and indeed they have.
I think these administrators/moderators must have some sense of civic duty in the first place to be doing all this for no reward. Maybe a very small little sense of dictatorial achievement (in a good way).
    Hats off to them.

No but I'm getting a red arrow and then an option to update the chrome browser.
    This is on the phone.
I'm not going to update. So see how long it goes on for.

I going to clear alot of very large ash trees on a large ringfort that were damaged or blown over in the recent storms. There's over a weeks work just in cutting alone . Neighbours are calling me mad. I know that theres alot of superstition around , id love to hear your opinion

Not sure about fallen trees but supposed to be bad luck to damage a ringfirt but you aren't doing that

If you're superstitious, don't touch em.
If you're not, start the chainsaw.

Rath or ringforts that weren't cleared around here are used for small plantations.

I would have no qualms about it myself but alot of people would leave it to the fairies to cut up .
I probably wouldn't do much to a ring fort just because it's something nice but not for superstitious reasons

It would not bother me cutting on a ring fort i just wanted to hear some opinions

    Anyone want a dog?

Bloody dog here is able to open the back door of the house. So now we have to lock it.
He's been trying the front door now for a while but hasn't succeeded yet. But you can see the dirty paw marks where he's trying it.
Now this evening I noticed muddy paw marks on the car door handle on the driver's door.

    Aaagghhh!

I can see you now trying to explain to the insurance company how the dog crashed the car

    :D:D

It's not funny though he knows how doors open.

Then there's the cat who likes looking at the flames in the stove when she gets in.

I think I may get another dog to keep him company and take his mind off all this stuff before he goes too far.

It's a pity he takes no interest in milking.
Now that I think of it he opens the sliding doors in the parlour too.
    Fuppin dog.
